Dancer in the Dark

Dancer in the dark

Dancer in the dark
Along, along
All through the night
She dances on
This stage of pride,
Her dreams to move,
Her pain to soothe,
To every song,
For everyone,
In colored light,
Just like a flash,
All through the night
Till early dawn,
Just for the cash.
On fiery wings
Her heart beats strong,
Along, along,
Fly with the song
All through the night,
To hopes a-far,
Yet out of sight,
Some day to be
A famous star,
Rich, glad and free.
