Mood of the Moment
Every two years, Saturn changes zodiac signs. This October he leaves Libra and enters Scorpio. Areas touched by Saturn are being scrutinized meticulously. In Libra, Saturn had an in-depth look into our desire for beautiful, harmonious, stress free togetherness and those compromises we tend to make in order to achieve it. He has freed us from many illusions concerning these issues and drove home to us where we really are today.

Unlike other sign changes the content matter of this one is not going to fundamentally change as the issue of relationship will remain – just becomes more acute, requiring us to probe deeper and consider more radical responses. Saturn in Scorpio unearths considerably further-reaching issues. Individually as well as collectively, he draws our attention to hitherto repressed matters, often to do with sexuality, power and powerlessness or death and dying. We have been challenged with these issues since 2009 when Pluto entered Capricorn but now things are getting far closer to the bone, becoming more concrete and personal. We are likely to face deeply hidden fear and pain on an individual level. Chances are that the truth will be brought onto the table – thus facilitating true transformation.

Yet there is more to it than just disclosing old secrets. Ultimately, this is about freeing the areas of sexuality, power, and death from their traditional deformations, so that they may shine in their radiant beauty and have a chance to unfold their spiritual potential.

AriesAries: Plain sailing ahead – everything is becoming so much easier that you might get confused, since you are so used expecting the worst. Just for a change, try not to fight. There are always limitations, not all of them must be overcome. Sometimes it is perfectly alright to leave things be. Mind your own limits and those of others. By the end of October you tend to expect too much. Just trust that everything is okay and see things through the eyes of the others.

TaurusTaurus: You stand on firm ground and are invited to move on from there into letting go and into surrender. Take the risk, as this is your only chance to realize that much greater resources are available to you than you thought. The biggest hurdle lies in your own complacency – an insight that will become increasingly clear to you during the coming one-and-a-half years. Fortunately that also means that you do not rely on others; you yourself hold your life’s happiness in hands.

GeminiGemini: Ease into October by and by, while making sure that everybody else is taken into the boat as well. Then let yourself be carried by the current. Optimism, realism and mysticism mingle and merge. The second half of the month demands higher standards. You wrestle for clarity. Let go of rosy dreams as well as too high ambitions. Your resource is the heart. By the way: you don’t necessary have feelings in your heart. In love your heart expands, but in fact it is like a still lake – forever untouched by whatever it reflects.

CancerCancer: The energy of the first half of the month is serene, gentle, and kind, with a more harmonious tendency than the second. On the whole, you remain flexible and open. This, however, is unlikely to keep you from feeling the urge to follow your path so vigorously that you’re unwilling to compromise. After the new moon, your inclination to take radical steps increases, along with your readiness to confront others. Be authentic and sincere but look for solutions beyond harmony and disharmony.

LeoLeo: Until mid-October, dynamic, expansive forces predominate that like to include a larger context and other people. In the latter half of October as well, it is about expansion, although Saturn is striking a counterpoint note that keeps you from naively seeking refuge in romantic fantasies. Rather, this is the time to stick to your ideas and carry out your visions with might and courage. Find the golden mean between idealism and realism, but act sincerely and be true to yourself.

VirgoVirgo: Love and eroticism may now be painful subjects – but only if you demand the absolute and insist on perfection. Stay humane, encounter yourself and others with lenience, humour and understanding. Continue to share creatively, but on the whole you fare best now if you home in on your own rather than others’ insights and aims. By mid-month don’t overstretch yourself by too much activity, but rather withdraw a little and stay with yourself.

LibraLibra: You made it: after two years, Saturn will leave your sign on the fifth. To be sure, it wasn’t an easy time for you, but do look back: Would you like to swap your present state with that of two years ago? Ideally, you will have matured, found yourself more and are less inclined to arrange yourself around half-truths. You also have been given a taste of real harmony and love. Stick to your insights and open to the strength and the trust that are now arising from your depth.

ScorpioScorpio: With Saturn entering Scorpio, a two-year process of transformation starts out for you. It is about concentrating on what really matters and on your own self, but at the same time it is also about sharing and opening for true intimacy. You will now look at many things more soberly and pragmatically and no longer avoid facing your own fears and need to control. Stick to your longing for reliable structures and unambiguous state of affairs, yet don’t fight but remain open and vulnerable.

SagittariusSagittarius: Mars transits Sagittarius until mid-November; he increases your dynamism, zest for life, adventurousness and willingness to take risks. Yet at the same time, other influences make sure that you will feel your own limits or even experience energy break-downs. So be doubly aware what is possible or not at any given time. Put neither yourself nor others under pressure. Use your energy to express your convictions but remain tolerant towards those choosing to walk other paths.

CapricornCapricorn: Your planet changes from Libra to Scorpio. During the last two years, you had to gain a more objective view on your relationships as well as take responsibility for whatever you discovered in the course of this process. If you managed to face facts you can now start to build new reliable structures. For the coming two years, Scorpio will powerfully bring to light what has been repressed or disowned, demanding profound transformation, particularly concerning taboo areas of life (sexuality and death).

AquariusAquarius: You are in transition: what is gone is gone and what is new has not yet matured. Despite the best of intentions you may now run into tense situations that won’t be easy to resolve. Be patient and go ahead step-by-step. By mid-month, some breakthroughs will become possible. Enjoy them but keep staying centred and don’t expect that from now on it will be plain sailing. What is required is a genuine readiness for compromise, as everybody concerned must now make concessions.

PiscesPisces: This month, you must deal with extremely positive as well as tense influences. Up to mid-month, the latter concern love, sexuality, friendship, work and creative expression. Those constellations that open and relax you, however, affect all areas of life. In order to benefit from them employ the services of your mind, especially if a friendly approach won’t get you anywhere. The mind simply has the better capacity for discrimination and helps you to clearly analyse situations.
