Magno shows his paintings in our virtual gallery.
I love flow, in life as well as in painting. I don’t plan a painting. I look at nature, pictures, photos, and if I feel touched inside, then I start. It is mostly happening after meditations.
Either some energy flow guides me or an inner vision, and even then, I start playing with colors and how they flow. It can take hours. I leave, and then come back. I watch how the colours flow, how they have melted with each other. Then I see what can happen: I add some layers and wait, and again another layer of flow. Even when I paint an object it is guided by the flow of colours.
That’s why in my paintings mainly two qualities are present: flow and dissolving – like a trance. You can look at any one of them and enjoy these qualities. And if you resonate with it and open yourself to it – you may find that the painting is also observing you, that a flowing circle of energy is created between you and the painting. A pleasant circle of energy.
Magno Shavdia grew up in Georgia and studied Arts and Mathematics at the Uni of Tbilisi. He read his first book by Osho when Georgia was still part of the Soviet Union (the book was handwritten!). He came to Pune together with other members of the Tbilisi Meditation Centre, met Madita and later moved with her to Cologne where they are still living together, next door to the UTA Centre.
