Mood of the Moment
The new year starts with a lot of tension. Whoever doesn’t pay attention, will suddenly find himself in the middle of the most difficult fundamental discussions, escalating controversies and erupting disputes. From the end of December until the middle of January, we should treat each other with kid gloves and sincerely strive for objectivity. Being considerate with regard to the sensitivities of others makes it easier for all; e.g. there is no need to rake up old stories right now. Those, blessed with a sense of humour have the best chances; however, reason and the knowledge that no one is perfect also help us through this precarious first half of January.
Venus in Capricorn now points toward the deficiencies in our ability to love, leaving little space for euphemisms. But in the course of the month, we gradually learn to distance ourselves from the – not always just – assessments of others and to look for feasible solutions together with them. Toward the end of the month, a common orientation becomes increasingly important. Even in the face of difficult situations, those who are similarly tuned in spiritual matters will still resonate. The transpersonal sustains, if and when the personal happens not to match.
Aries: The year begins with a high charge of energy, demanding realization. It takes qualities of the heart for the realization to turn out powerfully and not poncy, convincing and not overrunning. During the second half of the month, it becomes easier for you to engage in discussions, recognize and appreciate others in their uniqueness and try new undertakings together. Until August, all relationships are about balancing sobriety and the willingness to accommodate.
Taurus: January is a month of processing. Whatever happened in December, but maybe even since the turn of the year 2005/2006, demands scrutiny, correction and revaluation. Get ready to take on more responsibility and face challenges in this regard. It may be necessary to learn something new; but for sure you’ll have to examine your communication patterns regarding whether these express the warmth of your heart. In case they don’t, change them in such a way that they do.
Gemini: At the beginning of the month, it is not easy to control the swift tongue of Gemini, which may get you into trouble, especially with those closest to your heart. Set everything straight, as soon as you notice the necessity to do so; be thorough in this respect and make sure that all misunderstandings are rectified. From the second third of the month onwards, everything will become easier; simply follow that which is possible. However, if there is grit in the gears, check your strategy and exercise patience.
Cancer: Summon all your courage and fearlessly leap into the new year. You have many resources at your disposal, above all your intuition. It is only impaired in case you revert to the familiar role of being a victim. Otherwise, you may rely 100% on your gut-feeling, which will tell you that you are capable and that you neither need to withdraw timidly, nor need to prove your capability time and again. Very often, only a few pieces of information are missing, which you are able to figure out.
Leo: During the first two thirds of January you’ll need all your maturity, clarity, knowledge and warmth of heart, in order not to drown in power games. Even if you win, it‘s still a loss. As soon as you notice that you’re getting entangled in your identifications, withdraw from the situation, take a deep breath and look around. Pay more attention to what you can rely on and to the good things coming your way than to things you have to fight or argue for. To put it briefly: be in touch with your resources.
Virgo: For most Virgos this is a rather stable month. Restlessness mostly arises due to the manifold difficulties others may get into now (just like the early Virgos). Hence, your task rather lies in accompanying them throughout the unsettling first half of the month. You don’t need to do anything in particular in this regard, nor do you need to have especially intelligent pieces of advice at hand; you merely have to be present and make clear that hard times do not necessarily become easier through rash reactions.
Libra: Time to take stock: especially everything that has gone wrong during the past month or even during the past eight years requires a reorientation now. To begin with, you have to admit if things are not the way you would like them to be. As long as you consider yourself as living in a fairy tale world, which doesn’t exist, circumstances are not going to improve. The more sober you scrutinize the situation, the more support you receive on the part of Saturn, in order to create what you really want.
Scorpio: The commotion at the beginning of the month only affects you indirectly. Focus on Saturn‘s gifts: calmness, clarity and realism. Equipped with those you are on solid ground. Nothing moves swiftly now, nothing is absolute. Wait for the right moment, even if it only arrives in April – in case you are among the late Scorpios, maybe only in 2015. Your thoughts and feelings may long for quick results, but life has other plans. Enjoy the journey, instead of always eyeing the goal.
Sagittarius: The developments of last summer are nearing a turning point. You long for the great, sweeping blow, but it isn’t time for that now. Instead, question your goals and check whether these are compatible with the reality of your life. At times, what is good for us may not coincide with what our envisioned future makes us believe. How would you like to feel about your life as such? Focus on your true needs, even if these may seem unspectacular and common. Fulfilment is not necessarily impressive.
Capricorn: The year starts with yet another culmination of the revolutionary developments of 2013 and 2014. Your remedy during the first half of the month: meditation or gentle exercise in nature. Whether in the shape of hiking through snowy forests, diving into the underwater world or paragliding – these kinds of things will broaden your perspective and help you relax. Remedies during the second half of the month: love or music/arts. Open heart and soul for what is beautiful, what keeps things together and what underlies everything – the key to meaning.
Aquarius: You are in your element. At the beginning of the month, there could be a challenge or two, but then you may shine. Your ability to analyse in a crystal clear manner is a great gift; don’t let others make you feel bad about it. This gift helps you not to feel satisfied with pseudo-solutions, just because they feel right somehow. If you truly trust the logical cognitive process, it will take you surprisingly far – often farther than those relying on vague ideas and inaccurate definitions.
Pisces: Let January start calmly and mainly focus on venturing into the new year from a solid foundation. Check whether you can rely on circumstances, people and yourself, and if not, provide for more stability. The latter rather emerges by letting go of superfluous things than by adding something new. Moreover, resilience also develops through emotionally satisfactory situations. Ensure a certain comfort-level, with the aid of simple means.
