Poet Prartho sings one of her lyrics.

Come for the Singing

girl singing

Well I’ll come for the signing, but I won’t stay for the sermon.
And I’ll listen to your gossip, but I don’t wanna hear no gospel,
’cause I’m glad to join the living folks wherever they might be,
but them chains of guilt and locks of fear, they keep this sou-ou-oul
from flying free.

Now I know folks are telling you to crawl before you fly,
but tell me have you seen the birds crawling to the sky?
No they spread their wings skyward without ever asking why.
No need for why-ing when you’re flying.

Now I know folks are telling you to think a thousand things,
but let me say the place to start just might be a feeling heart.
A heart that’s beating strong enough to drown out all the words,
a heart that has the courage to take jump and fly-y-y
like the birds.
