Passengers used to crammed public transport in Taipei, Taiwan’s capital, have been offered a fragrant leafy ride.
People checking out the 20-seater bus appear delighted about their surroundings. The seats are apparently covered with moss (just wondering how that is going to hold up with bodies sitting on and leaning against said moss), with orchids, ferns and a variety of Taiwanese shrubbery on display.
The creator of this marvel is florist Alfie Lin, who says he wanted to bring a touch of nature to commuters’ busy routines. He designed the bus as “a boy’s imaginary forest,” with the concept focusing on the integration of nature into urban life. The garden-on-wheels was commissioned by the Beautiful Touch Association and cost $100,000 NTD (2,900 EUR), to prepare.
