A taster of a track on video from Tanmayo’s newly-released album ‘…I Lay Me Down’.

Listen on YouTube

You know that space? The one, after the tears have been shed and the struggle has been wrought? The moment when you ‘lay yourself down’… surrender… into not knowing… and suddenly… it’s there?

The silence, the magic, the love, the mystery… Osho…

That’s what this song is all about.

Inspired in part by the beautiful work done in the ‘Path of Love’ process, but mostly by my own winding path to myself, this song invites you in a smooth, soft, jazzy kind of way, to let go into the arms of nothingness, to relax and be hugged by existence.

It’s part of a collection from my new album I lay me down which is an exciting new direction for me. Here I’ve brought my songs back to simple basics with a light ‘jazz’ edge.

Lyrics

After the storm has gone
Look up and see the dawn
Struggle and fight no more
Washed gently on the shore
Resting and quiet inside
Moving upon the tide
‘cos after the storm has gone…
…life carries on…

After the storm has passed
Unsurpassed, vast, at last
Waters now calm, now clear
nothing is there to fear
Drowned, disappeared in grace
Welcome this empty space
‘cos after the storm has gone…
…life carries on…

After the storm has done
Bathed in this gentle sun
Held in the arms of bliss
Nothing’s more true than this
‘cos after the storm has gone…
…life carries on…

After the storm has gone
Look up and see the dawn
Struggle and fight no more
Washed gently on the shore
Softly reborn, now healed
The love that is there, revealed
‘cos after the storm has gone…
…life carries on…
