From the Web

Japan’s Kyodo News Service says that the six illustrations have been accepted by ISO, the International Organization for Standardization, to show users which buttons to press when operating high-tech Japanese toilets and bidets.

Pictogram

Pictograms on how to use Japanese electric toilets have been registered as a global standard, the government said Monday, February 26, 2018, in a step aimed at making such signs more familiar to the growing number of foreign tourists visiting the country.

The pictograms, designed by an industrial body of toilet makers, symbolise flush, strong flush, back wash, bidet, close lid, raise lid.

Let’s see how global you are and if you can pick ’em!
