Elwha River

A few years ago, I wrote a book of memoir pieces, Trip Back. One of the pieces contains short scenes from rivers of my life, 15 rivers on 6 continents, including the John Day River (Oregon) and the Mula Mutha (Pune). For number 16, I wrote “River of the Future: Life wanders on, toward an unknown river flow…”

I now live close to the Elwha River, and know the Elwha and surrounding environment to be that unknown river, constantly revealing or hiding with every passing cloud, mist, and cycle of seasons; a magical land of white clouds, the sound of running water, a lotus paradise.
