(9 January 1963 – 28 February 2019)
Alok Abhik (Michel Hildebrandt) lived in Clamart, near Paris. In May 2018 he moved to Lozères, in the Cévennes mountains, to develop a permaculture project.
Before meeting Osho’s light on his path he had found refuge in Buddhism. Spirituality, meditation and relating were his way of life.
Skydiving, ice hockey, and sports in general, as well as travelling, were of his utmost interest, not to forget his most faithful companions: animals.
A single moment of love is equal to the whole eternity of love.”
Fly high, Abhik.

Tributes
Abhik was a dear friend who I met when we were both crazy 17-year-old counselors at a tennis/golf camp in the US. We stayed friends for four decades. He was fun-loving, kind and gracious – from our crazy teenage days in Florida to my junior summer study program in Paris, when he welcomed me and my American student friends into his life.
Years later, he flew all the way to NYC., my hometown, to adopt a dog. It was one of the most generous gestures I’d ever seen. Over the years as we matured and lived in separate continents and lives, we kept in touch and saw each other when I had flight layovers in Paris on my way to India to visit family.
Our friendship endured and matured, as we did. We shared our hopes and dreams and lots of laughs and good times.
I recently learned that he’d passed. It’s hard to believe he’s gone, and I know that when I next travel to Paris, the city will feel empty without him. He’ll always be a light in my heart and I’m forever grateful for our friendship.
