Dead Man Laughing – Premda Lowson

Events

Mutribo invites all those who can to attend Premda’s one-man show on Saturday, August 15th at The Byron Theatre. It might be Premda’s swan song.

Dead Man Laughing Premda LowsonI wanted to let you know about a dear, old friend of mine, Premda, who will be giving a performance of his one-man show in Byron in mid-August.

Premda Lowson is an actor, performer and contemporary storyteller who lives on the south coast of NSW, Australia, with his wife, Jan. In mid-August, he will be performing his latest one-man show, Dead Man Laughing directed by Howard Stanley at The Byron Theatre.

It is now over two years since Premda received a diagnosis of inoperable cancer that gave him 18 months to live.

His diverse life experiences from the engine room of a Royal Navy frigate to an ashram in India, from nursing on psychiatric wards to living with Tibetan monks and much more besides has always formed the basis of the material he uses for his shows.

This new situation with his health has infused his performance with an added immediacy, authenticity and poignancy. He brings a sincerity and honesty to his storytelling that does not flinch from dealing with our last taboos around sex and death, while always insisting with great humour that it is OK to be human. He takes us with him on a roller-coaster ride through a life well-lived along a path less-travelled.

He will be performing his hilarious and utterly unique one-man show for one night only at 7pm on Saturday August 15th in The Byron Theatre. Tickets are available from The Byron Theatre booking office or online. The show contains adult content and is rated 18+.

As this may be Premda’s swan song, I really want to get him a full and rocking house for his performance.

Premda will also be on Bay FM with Nyck Jeanes in The Elephant Room on Bayfm 99.9 Monday 10th August after 10 am. Tune in for this amazing story.
