Punya is the initiator, webmaster, organiser, editor and one of the writers for this magazine. Trained as a graphic designer and multilingual translator, she has worked as a magazine editor and advertising executive. She took sannyas in 1974 and lived many years in Osho’s communes. Osho gave Madhuri sannyas in 1973, to her consternation and mystifaction. She then lived in his communes from 1974-2003. A health crisis catapulted her to the Midwest, where she wrote a Tantra memoir. In 2012 she moved to northern England, where she writes books, cavorts with the Poetry Goddess, and gives sessions in Human Design, angel healing and tarot. She loves clothes, dancing, travel, and making exuberant greeting cards. Phoebe WyssMonthly astrology page (from 2019)
Phoebe was gifted the name Phoebe in Pune One; it means ‘pure radiance’. It is still her guiding light. Long-time astrologer and writer, she wrote the Osho Times horoscope back in the nineties. Bhagawati was born in Vienna, Austria and has been Osho’s disciple since the mid-seventies; she lived many of those years at the ashram in Pune, in Rajneeshpuram and European Osho communes. Now living on the island of Bali, Indonesia, she is an active columnist and author. She loves to travel to India, “the country that nourishes my soul.” She has been researching and studying the origins of mankind for many years with a book on the subject evolving. Shanti is Osho’s sannyasin for more than 40 years. A psychology teacher by profession, he translated the books of Dr. Roberto Assagioli and introduced ‘Psychosynthesis’ in the Netherlands. He gave numerous workshops on witnessing and accepting sub-personalities. Later he was trained by Dr. Edward de Bono in ‘Thinking Skills’ and worked as a management trainer. Ageh BhartiAuthor, Reporter
Ageh Bharti was born 1934 in Uttar Pradesh, India. After a mysterious experience in 1966, he met Osho in early 1967 and immediately became his disciple; from then on he lived in close proximity to Osho, accompanying him on several of his tours during 1967 to 1969. In Rajneeshpuram, Osho declared him enlightened. He authored hundreds of articles, wrote 20 books in Hindi and 2 in English, gives talks and facilitates meditation camps. Dharma Anugyan was born in North Scotland, and spent some years with the Findhorn Community. He took sannyas in 1983, lived all over the world and currently resides in Cornwall, England. Kul Bhushan is a writer, journalist and UN media consultant who has been involved with the publishing and distribution of Osho’s words since decades. Dhyan Tarpan was born in Kerala, India. He lived many years in Mumbai, working in construction/electrical engineering, and took sannyas in 2000 at the Osho International Meditation Resort in Pune. Along with writing articles and travelogues in the Malayalam language, he has translated from English seven of Osho’s books. Anuragi took sannyas in 1982 in Poona and met Osho for the first time in 1985 in Manali. Having worked in the corporate world for over 2 decades, he is now involved in securing and preserving Osho’s work: first edition books, letters and manuscripts in original, photos, audios/videos and objects used by Osho. He feels it is important that Osho’s work be available in a pure and undiluted form. Nirbija took sannyas in 1978 in Pune and lived for many years in Osho’s communes. Among many activities in the past, including work in the Osho Times Darkroom, he also was a carpenter, integrating Japanese Shoji design like sliding doors, paravents and lamps into western interiors. He is enjoying the ‘forest stage’ of life between his beloved Italy and the Parimal community in Witzenhausen, with his fellow traveller Ingeborg. Divakar (Marc Itzler), a sannyasin since 1974, spent his teenage years with Osho in India from 1979–81. Veet Karen moved from England to Australia at the age of three. After completing university she travelled to India, briefly visited Pune and took sannyas fifteen months later at Osho Leela in Dorset, England. She visits Pune annually. Veet resides in down-town Mullumbimby with her beloved, Makrand. Her life is dedicated to her vegan cooking school, offering vegan foundation cooking courses and a vegan chef training. Amrita Suha studied languages in Milan and worked for 30 years as an executive trilingual secretary (Italian, French, English) in international organizations and private companies in Milan, Brussels and Paris. In 1985 she visited Rajneeshpuram and took sannyas a year later in Amsterdam. In Pune 2 she was a graphic designer for the English and Italian Osho Times; she is now writing for this magazine from her home in Paris or Pune. Rashid took sannyas in Pune 1. There he worked growing vegetables for the master-gardener. On the Ranch he spent a lot of time in the pot-room and the fire tower. In Pune 2, till the master left the body, he was a bodyguard, an editor and all jobs in-between. Now he lives in Devon, keeps bees, paints and makes prints, designs buildings and landscapes for sacred use. Ananda Sarita met Osho in Mumbai in February 1973 and shortly afterwards received sannyas. She spent the next 26 years in his communes where she worked cleaning Osho’s house, as a medium in energy darshan, in the PR department and as a holistic healer. Osho gave her the title ‘Mahasatvaa’ meaning ‘keeper of esoteric wisdom’. Since 1997 she has been teaching Tantra and holistic healing across the world. Veena met Osho in Mumbai in 1971 and took sannyas shortly thereafter. At his request she opened the Nirvana Meditation Centre in London in 1972. Chinmaya Dunster was born 1954 in England and started playing the classical guitar at 15. After taking sannyas in 1982 he took up playing the sarod. The Osho Commune provided the ground for musical experiments until, today, he has twelve CDs released on New Earth Records and four on Malimba Records. Chinmaya is involved with environmental / social justice issues in India and creates films on these. AnandoAuthor
Anando took sannyas in ’75 and was formerly a lawyer and business manager. After an ‘apprenticeship’ in Deeksha’s kitchen in Pune 1, she travelled with Osho to America, where she ended up as one of his attorneys. She later accompanied Osho on his world tour, becoming his personal secretary, a post she held until Osho left his body. Roshani is the co-author of ‘Better Red Than Dead: Local Letters and the Rajneesh Movement.’ She took sannyas in Rajneeshpuram in 1984 while she was a Professor of Political Science at Western Oregon University. She took early retirement in 2002 and went to Hawaii to help Sunny (Ma Prem Sunshine) with her nonprofit ‘ Hawaii Wellness Institute’. Shastro took sannyas in 1981. Trained in Italy as a fashion photographer, he had the opportunity to photograph Osho on various occasions in Pune. His creativity soon expanded to music and, together with Sirus, he composed the music for the No Dimensions Meditation. He later founded Malimba Records that, as of today, features 16 of his albums as well as those of 12 other sannyasin musicians. Antar Marc was born in Holland and took sannyas in 1983. He is an educated artist and has lived in the Osho communes of Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, Cologne, Rajneeshpuram and Poona. In 1992-1994 Marc has been a travel guide for groups, touring by bus, walking and visiting historical places in Greece and Turkey. Surendra, former Reichian therapist from Britain, took sannyas in 1976. He lived in Osho’s communes in India, USA, UK and Japan from the early 1980s on. In Pune 2 he looked after the house painting in Lao Tzu House and then worked in Osho Publications. From 1991–1996 he taught at Osho Ko Hsuan school in Devon, UK, where he became a passionate photographer (surendraphoto.com). In 2013 he relocated to the Japanese Alps with his partner, Amrapali. Purushottama fell at Osho’s feet in 1976. After passing through the fire of Deeksha’s Vrindavan in Pune One, Purushottama travelled for years from end to end in the US and Canada establishing connections with bookstores and distributors for Osho’s books. Srajan Atosho was born in the US in 1948. In 1972 he dreamt vividly of Osho under a Banyan tree in Japan, studied Zen for five years, started Hawaii Bound school and took sannyas in 1978. He was also in the communes in Rajneeshpuram (1981-85) and Pune 2. In Sedona he taught Avatar with Pravina. They moved to Hawaii where they collected and sold Asian art for a decade, developed two properties, and taught at a retreat center. Sarjano, as a photojournalist and organiser of spectacular rock events in Italy, he created a commune in Sicily. Hearing about Osho from friends, he left for India and took sannyas in 1978. At the ashram in Pune 1 and 2 he worked as a photographer, translated Osho’s discourses into Italian, and became famous for his cooking skills. The author of ‘Food Is Home’, ‘Dalla separazione all’amore’, and ‘When A Real Lion Meets A Real Master’, he also created a restaurant in Vagator, Goa, and now lives in his native Rome.
