Shamanic Art Performance

In summer 2015 I met an art student, Meret, who is involved in the art scene here in Basel, Switzerland. She saw my work and the idea of a Shamanic Art Performance took shape. She asked me if I would do a live show in a well-known nightclub called Kaschemme in Basel. The date was set for Sunday, 13th of November. On the poster I was introduced as ‘Megalove – Citizen of the World’.

For quite some time I had rehearsed and prepared myself for the event in my painting studio and had all my ideas and concepts in place. On the evening of the show I started with some rituals and then the audience went wild. I was in the process of finishing a 2-meter by 1-meter painting when some of the guests joined in and took over. By that time I had already started my second painting when a woman rolled herself onto the painting. The crowd went banana. I was in a complete let-go, letting thing happen. The event became a totally unexpected great success.

As far as Performance Art goes I think I brought something new onto the scene. I now have a long-term vision: a school in Europe to train more painting shamans. It would involve not only painting but different meditations, dance forms and massage (since I have been earning my living as a masseur in the past). I can also see that this could be a successful profession for some people. If they are really good with their show they can be the next generation of stars. Who knows?

Inshallah and I will bring my Shamanic Art onto the next level. I have already been asked to tour the world!

Mega grew up in England and France. He spent most of his life in India with Osho, from 1976 till 2006 and was wellknown for organising motorcycles rides throughout India. He started painting in 1986 in Pune and in 2011 he initiated the Osho Tribe Reunion in Munich. He now lives in Basel, Switzerland.
