Cyber hug from Japan
From the first assessments it appears that the sannyasins living in Japan are all well. Here is a short message I received from Ritambhara in Osaka:
Hi Punya…as far as we have heard through the grapevine, all sannyasins are OK. Of course, the ‘threat’ of a nuclear meltdown is not yet over, and Japan is still being rocked by aftershocks from the initial earthquake, so I can’t vouch for the near future, but to my knowledge, all sannyasins are alive at present.
It’s early days yet, but it looks like the death toll may be anything between 20~30,000 people…though it will probably be months, before they arrive at the final ‘head-count’.
I don’t know all the sannyasins in Japan, especially in the Sendai area, but if any of them have ‘perished’ due to the earthquake, or subsequent tsunamis, we will probably hear about it eventually, through the Osho commune, on the ‘mixi’ network. If I hear anything, I’ll let you know.
Although we were shaken by the earthquake here in Osaka, it was nowhere near as bad, as what they went through up in the north-east. Life goes on here as usual, but the atmosphere is ‘tense’, and when we go out into the marketplace, we don’t see many smiling faces. People are quieter, laughter is not heard. As a collective group, I think we are all a bit traumatized, but the people in this country are a resilient lot, and provided we don’t all get vaporized in some nuclear catastrophe, we will eventually bounce back!
Sending you a big cyber hug! Ritambhara

Reactor Reaction
The crisis in Japan is for all of us. A profound opportunity to move and respond as one. The nuclear reactor situation is an opportunity to recognize the cause and effect of our actions and the possibilities in this understanding. COOLING FROM WITHIN is an alchemy for this moment. This meditation is dedicated to Japan and her people.

15 Minutes Meditation for Japan
Prem Dharma has initiated a global event via Facebook. He writes:
Everybody is invited to share his love and support for our Japanese friends who need help in these hard times, after the earthquake and the explosion of the nuclear centre in Fukushima.
You can meditate sitting with the hands in your heart, or you can dance, sing, paint … anything which makes easier to share your beauty and love. The important thing is to focus your intention on supporting Japan.
The meditation lasts 15 minutes and starts on Saturday 19/3/2011 at 12.00 pm (Central Europen time zone, i.e. +1 GMT). If your time zone is different, please check the different timing so that we can meditate all at the same time. If for any reason you can’t do it at that time, do it when it is more comfortable for you.
It is also an invitation to pass from the individual to the collective consciousness, because our Japanese friends are not far away, they are right here…sharing this beautiful planet with us.
Let’s connect all together to send love and support.
Here is the Facebook page…
It so happens that on that very day and time the sannyasins in Osaka will be having an Osho Celebration (which was planned before the earthquake). What synchronicity!
