NEW DELHI – Transfixed by the big, enigmatic eyes of Osho looking out from the huge portrait, teenagers and young people flocked to the Osho pavilion at the World Book Fair, New Delhi, writes Swami Anand Kul Bhushan Kulive Kulove Kulaugh

Not only Osho’s books but his videos, posters, mugs, T-shirts and magazines in English and Hindi attracted them all. Senior School students were seen examining Osho books and magazines and were intrigued by Osho’s revolutionary quotations displayed all over.

College students were equally fascinated by the radical titles of Osho books and picked them to have a look.

They also scrutinized the posters, Osho signature paintings, Osho Zen Tarot sets and, of course, the posters.

“Where can I meditate?” was a frequent question answered by the maroon-clad volunteers with T shirts proclaiming ‘Love u Osho’. They were told about the meditation campus, Oshodham on the outskirts of the city, and the Osho Meditation Centre in South Delhi.

The young professionals who walked in knew about the enlightened master and had read some of his books. They went straight to the section that interested them and looked for new titles.

Later, they browsed around and bought what they liked.

A TV screen played videos of meditation camps at Oshodham and stopped many in their tracks to gaze at so many maroon robed meditators lost in ecstasy.

What was going on?

They wondered and stopped to watch.

Advance information about the arrival of Swami Vinod Bharti a.k.a. film-star Vinod Khanna spread quietly among the volunteers as they prepared for his arrival. He came with a group of his fans, most of whom were surprisingly young.

The pavilion was bursting with cameramen as he went around with his wife, Kavita. In front of the huge portrait of his master, Swami Vinod launched the latest issues of Osho World magazine in English with the Editor Swami Anand Kul Bhushan and later in Hindi with Swami Chaitanya Keerti.

NEW DELHI – Film star and MP Vinod Khanna visited Osho World Pavilion at the World Book Fair in New Delhi recently when he launched the latest issue of Osho World Magazine edited by Swami Anand Kul Bhushan. From the left: Kavita, Vinod’s wife, Swami Vinod Bharti and Swami Kul Bhushan.

He was presented with an Osho mug which he found attractive and so another one was offered for his wife as well. He looked at the posters and other goodies. Then he posed with all the volunteers, a gesture much appreciated by all.

The next day, well-known humour poet Surinder Sharma visited the Osho pavilion to a great deal of laughter as he recited a couple of his rib tickling poems about the travails of husbands at the hands of their clever wives.

Here was Osho’s laughter meditation in real life.

Every day started with meditation and dancing. Throughout the day, smiles and laughter, hugs and embraces made this pavilion come alive.

The Osho effect was enhanced with the young energy of the volunteers and the visitors at this pavilion.
