Karunesh presents the first track of his new album ‘Sun Within’.
The track starts with the sound of the ‘tongue flute’. This rare instrument has chromatically tuned metal tongues which vibrate when you hit them softly. They create this beautiful, sustained and airy sound. They play and dance together with the wooden ‘log drum’ which is just the opposite – very earthy and grounded – creating a beautiful balance between them.
The main melody is played by the ‘duduk’, an Armenian double-reed instrument which I really love. It’s haunting sound always reaches straight into my heart and puts me in contact with my own inner longing for the beyond.
And my old friend Govi sparkles some glitter and stars over it all with his beautiful and unique guitar solos.
