Mood of the Moment
This May marks a small worldwide turning point. Uranus, the rebel and great innovator, moves from Aries to Taurus, yet returning to Aries one more time from November 2018 till March 2019. However, we will feel the atmospheric change already now, for in this constellation completely different forces meet. Here’s a little line-up:
Taurus Principle | Uranus Principle |
security-oriented | renewal-oriented |
maintaining power, patient | liberating power, fast |
nature, real | technology, virtual |
warm | cool |
concrete | abstract |
roots, beauty | wings, the other |
physical | mental |
practical | theoretical, experimental |
uniform, constant | sudden, upheaval |
faithful | non-committal, independent |
The Uranian principle will have an effect on the Taurus Principle. Hence, it’s a good idea to develop flexibility and improvisation skills, because these will be of great benefit to us over the next eight years. Many of life’s cornerstones begin to waver and demand creative restoration.
From now on, the martial sounds of the last seven years are abating. The Jupiter-Neptune trine is also helpful and will continue to act as a shock absorber until the end of August, strengthening our perception of the oneness of all.
Aries: The first half of May still requires patience. Not only in taking action but also in communicating with others you need prudence and distance from your own ideas. But from the middle of the month everything becomes easier and brighter. Without effort you can accept different points of view and open yourself to new experiments. Chiron also enriches your life and allows more tolerance, composure and humanity in dealing with others, making everything run smoother.
Taurus: Some Tauruses have been feeling it for weeks – for the first and only time in your life, Uranus is moving through your sign for eight years. It awakens your creative power and encourages you to try something new and different. In particular, your willingness to accept lazy compromises will decrease. This will get things moving and surprising twists and turns help you develop flexibility and versatility. Uranus is the revolutionary among the planets, and only one thing is certain: it will be exciting!
Gemini: During the first half of the month, your relationships are going through a process of transformation, culminating in renewal, deepening and stabilization. Until then, however, there are some ups and downs to go through. With the goal in mind, you’ll easily get through the necessary changes. From mid-May it will become quieter and more harmonious. The only possible stumbling block is too high expectations on your part – maybe also because you don’t want to disappoint others. Be optimistic, don’t force anything, but enjoy the journey.
Cancer: For you, too, the Uranus transition into Taurus shortly after the New Moon is the start of a new era. However, the changes won’t be very radical and will be easy to integrate into your life. In the last third of the month, Venus gives your relationships a special emphasis. Stay open to renewal, don’t expect miracles and don’t put yourself under pressure if situations leave something to be desired. At the end of May, Saturn slows everything down, hence be patient and look at what really counts.
Leo: This May isn’t quite as calm as you’d like it to be. But if you reflect on your resources, remain relaxed and adapt to new situations, restlessness won’t be a problem. Use the first half of the month to round off your projects. In the second half you can also tackle new issues. Make sure that the direction you are aiming for is consistent with your values; then consider the implementation of your ideas carefully. If the direction is right, things will go well: slow but smooth.
Virgo: The first thing that matters this May is for you to adapt to changing circumstances, within or around you. Maybe you are feeling more impatient or less willing to compromise. Instead of jumping the gun, look at the situation and think about what really is important to you. In the next few years, check this again and again and note the changes. In the second half of May, it’s easy for you to flow with the events and you can get a variety of ventures started.
Libra: This month it’s important to keep an eye on your own thinking and feeling habits. What and how much something bothers us is a matter of attitude, because otherwise one and the same situation would trigger the same reaction in every person – which is not the case. Your ingenuity helps you make the best of all situations and approach a solution step by step. It’s true that you need patience now. Apply it; many things that grow slowly are in the end particularly stable.
Scorpio: Think back to last December and remember the expansion that happened in your life then. Consequently, an inner expansion has developed, of which you are becoming aware through meditation or prayer, through nature, or through music and art. Rise above small personal handicaps and feel your integration with something greater. You necessarily belong to this greatness and if you surrender to it, you know that it has always carried you and will continue to carry you.
Sagittarius: Dissatisfaction or insecurity can arise in the material or emotional areas in the first half of May. However, this is only a temporary disturbance, because during the month you become more and more certain that you are above such mood swings. Ever since you can think, you’ve noticed them appearing and disappearing. And in the meantime, you yourself are always there. Spread the wings and leave the apparent boundaries behind. What you are has always been free of them. Claim this freedom!
Capricorn: Being careful with words is a fine art. Everything’s going very well this month, as long as you’re practicing this art. It’s about expressing yourself clearly while remaining open and friendly. If you know that what you have to say will hurt the other, then you have two options. Either you simply don’t express it – maybe it’s not that important. Or you could say it in such a way that at least you wouldn’t be hurt by it. You can intercept misunderstandings by asking for feedback.
Aquarius: Over the last seven years you have been able to make important changes with determination and willpower. Mid-May is the beginning of a turning point for you; from now on new energies will come into play. Over the next eight or nine years your operating range will decrease, changes will be more deliberate and, in the end, more solid. Maybe you’ll discover new areas of interest: nature, garden, art, cooking, handicrafts? You will become more grounded and start to really enjoy your stay on this beautiful Earth.
Pisces: Last month’s relationship issue continues in the first half of May. But then it goes far beyond that. Since the end of 2017, Jupiter is bringing your inner expansiveness down to Earth – for the benefit of all. Wealth is the key word, in particular emotional richness, which holds the deepest depths and the highest heights – simply because they are part of the fullness of life. Do not exclude anything but find that which since eternity flows through you and everything and recognize it in yourself.
