Horoscope

Anandi’s monthly horoscope introduced by Friedrich Nietzsche’s quote: “Wherever there is happiness, there is joy in nonsense.”

Evening light by Michael Sudheer

Mood of the Month

“Wherever there is happiness, there is joy in nonsense.”
– Friedrich Nietzsche

The month opens charged with tension and strong emotions. At the same time, Saturn puts the brakes on rash outbursts, especially in our dealings with others. On one hand, there’s a radical urge to make room for something new; on the other, Saturn’s raised finger calls for order and warns against throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Venus in Scorpio will be retrograde until mid-November, drawing our gaze to the treasure chest of our unconscious. She supports a deep reflection on relationship issues, love, self-worth and money. Unresolved complexes and old relationship conflicts may surface, along with a longing for more honest togetherness, genuine closeness and deep connection.

The New Moon in Libra encourages diplomatic approaches and calls for a fresh start in how we relate to one another. What could bring balance and fairness? What can strengthen mutual trust? A starting point for a healthy balance – including in our own lifestyle.

The Sun moves into Scorpio, opening the door to a deeper exploration of the theme: Death and Rebirth. This includes the uncertain, suspended state before the new arrives. In this uncertainty, life forces are at work that can radically unhinge even the very best plans and intentions. Control is futile. The longing for what is true and genuine becomes more urgent. What is essential and what is merely surface dressing? To have, or to be? Questions that take on greater weight in the darker days of autumn.

As Mercury in Scorpio turns retrograde, our attention increasingly focuses on inner processes. Past and present become intertwined. It seems as though certain situations have occurred before, and there is a tendency to react to the current situation with old patterns of behaviour. We often feel as though we are in a parallel world. Thinking, though focused, is slower, somewhat sluggish – technology, too, seems affected. It’s a good time for reflection and clarification, but it’s wise to hold off on firm agreements and signing contracts until Mercury turns direct again in mid-November.

Retrograde Venus moves back into Libra and pursues her desire for balance, fairness and beauty. She encourages us to reflect on unresolved relationship issues, one’s own self-worth and personal values.

The Full Moon in Taurus turns its spotlight onto matters of security and stability – on everything that safeguards and sustains life. At the same time, this Full Moon is an invitation to focus on what really matters, to live more authentically, naturally and with greater joy. A welcome balance in these intense times.

Aries, 21 March – 19 April

At the start of the month you’ll be full of energy, which your friends and partner will feel it most. Your thoughts demand immediate action and cry out, “Faster, higher, further!” But faster isn’t automatically better. Mars boosts your creative power, and Uranus offers insights into many new paths that can lead to happier outcomes. Remain playful, and do things for their own sake rather than simply because they’re useful. The more fun you bring into everyday life, the more meaningful and fulfilling it becomes. The New Moon inspires you to bring more colour and feeling into your relationships. All in all, things go well if you follow your heart while keeping the needs of others in mind.

Taurus, 20 April – 20 May

Venus raises your longing for more sensuality and passion in your relationships. This isn’t exactly compatible with the current situation, however. In October, old relationship issues will come back into consciousness. Pluto calls for intense self-reflection and transforms the values that have shaped your love life up to now. Relationships that resist this transformation may now come to an end. Or, with the right openness and willingness, they may become more authentic instead. Towards the end of the month, you’ll achieve more through cautious diplomacy and patient listening than if you set about things too briskly. One thing at a time…

Gemini, 21 May – 21 June

Right now your critical mind keeps you on your toes, constantly spotting whatever it thinks needs improving. But if you let it chatter on, it becomes clear that beneath the surface you’re actually rather quiet and reserved. Deep feelings are coming up, and their intensity may surprise even you. Whether it’s grief, anger or exhilarating joy, own your emotions and let them out – ideally alone, in nature, at home, in a safe space. October’s influences will bring a healthy balance between head and heart. In the last third of the month, your focus turns increasingly inwards. Allow yourself a moment of rest and solitude more often.

Cancer, 22 June – 22 July

Emotional balance is a key theme this October. As a water sign, you love riding the constant ebb and flow of feelings and emotions. You tend to prefer the beautiful moments, whilst the moody and difficult ones can quickly lead to friction with those close to you. Saturn calls for self-discipline and reminds you that you are the origin of everything that happens in your life. Neptune supports acceptance and reconciliation. Together, these two allies point the way to inner balance. The Full Moon highlights the tension between what is valuable to you and what makes a relationship more friendly. Love doesn’t ask for the impossible.

Leo, 23 July – 22 August

At the start of the month, Mars will stir things up. Whilst this brings plenty of momentum, it can also leave a trail of broken relationships in its wake. What’s required is a fine balance between self-control and the enthusiasm to reshape your life. You don’t want anyone to interfere, but you don’t want any conflict either. Jupiter takes the reins and advises you to let things take their natural course. His motto: look ahead with confidence and let yourself be surprised! October is a highly creative month, full of energy and creative drive. Listen above all to your own instincts, and approach things playfully. After all, the greatest joy really is the joy of play!

Virgo, 23 August – 22 September

October highlights areas in need of tidying up – and your thoughts are racing. Pluto calls for a departure from your usual way of doing things. It’s time to pause and rethink your priorities. What is your core objective? Keep a close eye on it, analyse the situation and work out the best way to achieve it. You may be wavering internally, but clear decisions and decisive actions are crucial right now. Even if your usual comforts may have to take a back seat for a while, accept that and move forward step by step, carefully and with a clear direction. In the last third of the month, the first signs of success will become apparent. Mercury helps you take a closer look and make any necessary adjustments.

Libra, 23 September – 23 October

October brings relationship matters to the fore: idealistic visions, expectations of your partner, old wounds, longings for greater depth and commitment… all of this can stir up emotional turmoil. Venus advises you to focus on yourself and on what’s actually happening right now – the small encounters, experiences and everyday moments of daily life. The New Moon encourages you to cast everyday life in a new light and give loving attention to small things… a special breakfast with friends, a walk in the countryside, a bright pot of flowers, a beautiful poem… The beauty and tenderness found in the outside world can bring harmony to your inner self. Invite love and trust into your life.

Scorpio, 24 October – 21 November

The month begins with “Should I?” or “Shouldn’t I?” – endless mental loops. Pluto, however, wants radical change and stirs up impulsive feelings and actions. Venus advises you to face these stormy emotions consciously, before they set you and those around you ablaze. Channel your passion instead towards the things that delight your heart. Your wise subconscious is guiding you and sending signs as to where it’s good to go next. Follow them, and don’t swim against the current. From mid-month, the mood will shift. Now you can put into practice things that previously only caused friction and resistance. If others don’t want to join in, go your own way alone.

Sagittarius, 22 November – 21 December

Even if some things aren’t going as you’d hoped and may seem a bit gloomy at times – stick with it, but be as yielding as a blade of grass in the wind. The causes of the difficulties are slowly becoming clear. Jupiter boosts your self-confidence. He advises you to look beyond your usual horizons and consider taking a completely different approach to dealing with things. Instead of fixing your focus firmly on a future goal, pay more attention to the journey itself and to the atmosphere that surrounds you and your companions. If it feels light and full of freshness, trust the direction… Uranus brings surprises and disrupts the usual routines. A month for sudden realisations and unexpected solutions.

Capricorn, 22 December – 19 January

The urge to get things under control and prove yourself is very strong right now. However, you’re once again taking on too much. You don’t have to do everything alone! Blind, impulsive action only meets resistance at the moment. Move forward with gentle methods and involve those around you. Things need time to mature. Lilith highlights the dark side of success, power and responsibility, and advises you to look beyond the outer trappings of authority. What are the real motivations driving you to strive for higher positions? And what matters more to you? A beautiful façade, or being real and authentic? A good month to get to the bottom of this.

Aquarius, 20 January – 18 February

Uranus intensifies the need to live more carefree and with greater ease. Its spirit of reform highlights old structures and habits that need new impetus and greater flexibility. Whether at work or in your private life, view situations with an inner sense of detachment, question your usual principles, and approach things more playfully and with a spirit of experiment. From the middle of the month, Pluto will actively kick-start processes of change. Its direction: newer, freer forms of togetherness. Instead of wasting your energy on resistance (“Yes, but…” always means “No!”), use your intuition and mental strength to set reforms in motion and inspire others to come on board.

Pisces, 19 February – 20 March

Neptune boosts your imagination and stirs up strong emotions. Instead of sinking into world-weariness, work actively towards realising your longings and visions. Whether in the arts – painting, making music, singing, writing a poem… quiet contemplation in nature and its beauty… or in a friendly conversation – dare to give concrete, creative expression to your love and your moods. Even if it doesn’t bring instant applause, follow your impulses and bring them to life in your own intuitive way. In this way, even the dark and the incomprehensible can find a form, and emotional chaos can lead to acceptance and calm.
