I can’t read musical notes, I can’t read a score, and I can’t play an instrument, but I still like to follow my creative impulses.

As software I use Music Maker. It provides 12 tracks on which you can place samples of sounds from various instruments and create a piece.

The samples are short (1 to 4 seconds) – you have to buy them. You first need to choose each sample and then place one after the other in such a way as to complete a piece, like placing instruments in an orchestra.

I’m limited by the nature and quantity of the samples that are available, and it’s far from perfect because they must be aligned to the nearest tenth of a millimetre. Nevertheless, I enjoy making these little compositions, which never come out the same. I hope you like my ‘musical journeys’.

Note: the photos have been digitized from Kodak slides taken in 1988.
