Sohana’s third contribution about healing the chakras with gemstones: the third chakra (yellow)
The Third Chakra, called the manipura in Sanskrit, is the Solar Plexus Chakra. It is also known as the Power Chakra and is located just below the sternum. In the Osho Zen Tarot, it is no accident that the Success card is depicted as a yellow tiger, because the tiger is the animal associated with the Third Chakra as is the color yellow and the quality of success.
The meaning of Yellow
The color is Yellow/Gold is closely related to the pancreas, the gland located in the abdomen that secretes digestive enzymes and insulin. So yellow stimulates the nervous system and metabolic rate, calms the stomach and digestive system, and aids the healing of eczema and other skin problems.
Yellow is the color of creative and intellectual energy, a sun color that makes us feel optimistic and happy. It is the color for manifesting abundance and the antidote to depression. Adding yellow to your wardrobe and wearing yellow stones will help balance this chakra.
Properties of the Third Chakra
This center determines your personal power and must be in balance if you want to be successful. This is the chakra that defines our self-esteem. The personality that develops during puberty, otherwise known as the ego, is housed here. Anyone experiencing dysfunction of the third chakra is having difficulty obtaining or maintaining his/her own personal power. This intuitive chakra is where we get our gut instincts that signal us to do or not to do something.
Strong self-esteem is a requirement for developing intuitive skills. Our creativity and the expansive, free feeling to do and be all that we can be comes with a balanced third chakra. Other characteristics of a balanced manipura are strength, success, manifesting abundance, a sense of self worth, transformation, courage and laughter.
