Mohani left her body on 19th May 2011
Mohani left her body on May 19th 2011 around 11pm, in her home in Munich, Germany. Mohani was born 15th December 1949 and took sannyas in Heidelberg in the Seventies. She worked in the translations office in Pune for Russian and German and translated many Osho books into German. During the Ranch times she worked in the Cologne Commune as a receptionist and translator for Osho’s books and for the Rajneesh Times.

After the Ranch she worked in the Pune office of the German Osho Times and, during the summer months, she headed off north, together with Jayadip, to work as a tour guide in the Himalayas for a German trekking company.
Two years ago Mohani was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She used this time to live out unfulfilled dreams and to prepare herself for her departure. She died in her room in a communal house in Munich where she had lived for many years. A circle of a dozen friends took care of her during her last months. There was a mailing list and everybody did whatever he/she could manage: giving massages, reading to her, sharings, taking her to the doctor’s or on a trip to her beloved mountains. She was in best hands in this exceptional and loving community.
Jayadip writes: “Everybody said that it was very beautiful around her during her last weeks. People visited her all day long and sometimes they meditated together. They also planned, together with her, how the death celebration should be. She totally accepted what was happening to her and was at peace with it. She was conscious when she died. Because she had a strong connection with the Tibetans through her many tours in the Himalayas, her body was shrouded in a Tibetan cloth.”
Her sister Almut says: “Mohani made it! She went peacefully and relaxed, exactly as she was lately.”
Sucheta says: “Mohani went easy, peacefully and gracefully. It has been a blessing and a challenge for me to be around her in the last few weeks. She was always relaxed and accepting of her fate … so it was easy to be around her. At the same time I was faced with my own mortality. Sitting with her just now after she left her body, leaves me with a profound feeling of gratitude, admiration and, most of all, silence.”
