Mood of the Moment
This month is marked by the most manifold contrasts which not necessarily have to be in conflict with one another. In fact they just call for being accepted the way they are: bright is bright and dark is dark, easy is easy and profound is profound – nothing has to change in any way as the sum total of all makes for the richness of life. This richness and the chance to discover it is the theme for the next six months.
Abundance exists on several levels: material, emotional, and mental. The trine of Pluto and Jupiter finds expression primarily on the material and the mental level – in either respect with immense potential. It is quite obvious what constitutes material abundance – for instance being wealthy or overweight – but mental abundance? Actually this stands for an abundance of profound, elating, exhilarating, far-reaching insights. Those can be enough by themselves to enrich life, with a spiritual perspective they can even lead to its completion. Others can be applied practically and if so wished, can create material wealth.
At the same time, Saturn makes its moderating influence felt. It is necessary to channel the exuberant enthusiasm that can come along with this particular trine. Pluto as well as Jupiter are prone to escalation and extremes, and in combination these two tend to create laws at will, that serve in particular their own interests. Pluto’s participation, however, ensures that quick success based solely on greed can’t hold up in the long run.
Aries: At the beginning of the month you tend to exaggerate and often expect too much. This may mean you need to come to a screeching halt at Full Moon. In the second half of October it’s about your relationships. Be aware that strong partners always mean two things: When they share your views they offer valuable inspiration and support. But if not, be prepared for creative debate; otherwise they might turn into strong opponents.
Taurus: You wouldn’t be a Taurus if you didn’t know that everything has its price. Nevertheless you (as most people do) would once in a while like to get something for free. Your daily October meditation: Focus on all the things that you already have for free – a fairly well functioning body and mind, a home country not at war, a usable pair of shoes, spiritual inspiration, the hot shower in the morning… To appreciate all that you don’t lack, is the secret of wealth and abundance.
Gemini: In the first half of the month strive for harmony; if necessary, draw friendly yet clear boundaries, but if the situation invites it, open yourself up wide with love and compassion. The second half of the month is somewhat conflicted. Presently, there’s a lot that isn’t good or not fast enough for you. You tend to be very critical – widen your perspective by viewing difficult issues and situations from a distance. Long discussions won’t lead anywhere, especially towards end of the month. Go for a walk or exercise to change your mind.
Cancer: Mars boosts your energy and Saturn asks you to make use of it in such a way as to harm neither yourself nor others. This is a favorable time to resolutely and patiently finalize unfinished projects. Be aware of projections. If something does not work out respond pragmatically and look for solutions that you can put into action – rather than for a scapegoat to accuse. Frustration and anger subside as soon as you use the adrenalin in your body creatively: Dance or do the dishes.
Leo: Now it’s about finding the balance between courage and bravado, generosity and extravagance, honesty and aggressiveness, optimism and speculation, belief and fanaticism. Find your favorite pair of opposites and if you see yourself leaning too much to one side shift back towards the opposite pole. Listen up when others point out that you are going to extremes or when life puts stumbling blocks in your way, because now you can’t always spot on your own that you have fallen out from your center.
Virgo: A golden October for you! If you are able to enjoy the simple and unspectacular and be satisfied with what is possible, three planets are rewarding you now. Venus graces you with special appreciation for all things beautiful, making you see yourself surrounded by beauty. Mercury’s gifts are sociability and thirst for knowledge, that make life interesting and exciting. And the Sun endows you with keen insight and uncompromisingness which allows you to unravel secrets and experience everything more intensively.
Libra: Saturn gives you stability and discipline; the advice is to take responsibility for your life and to do your best – but expect only what is possible instead of pining away for the impossible to happen. Although what is really and truly impossible? Eternity within time – meaning that everything that has a beginning will also have an end. At the same time Neptune points out that you often draw your boundaries too narrow, thus lagging behind your possibilities. Neptune encourages you to seek the timeless, the eternal.
Scorpio: In the first two weeks realism coupled with modesty will make life easier for you; experiments will only lead to tensions now. Jupiter in all its exuberant abundance rules the second half of the month. Like everything, this too has two sides: On the one hand Jupiter promises trust, magnanimity, joy, wisdom, and growth; its downsides are greed, wastefulness, self-aggrandizement, fanaticism, and exaggeration. What begins now can be brought to a stunning completion by March 2012.
Sagittarius: Especially during the first half of the month your fixation on the future will make life particularly hard. Compared with your hopes and expectations the present appears colorless and dull. Even though sometimes even you feel a longing for peace – it cannot easily be found in the past or in the future. In the last third of October it becomes easier for you to let yourself drop into this seemingly bleak present. In its depth you disappear into immense wealth and unlimited abundance.
Capricorn: Until mid-October your energy grows through encounters or confirmations, but also through resistance. In the second half of the month the Jupiter-Pluto trine comes in, gracing you with deep self-confidence. This will come most positively to the fore when you commit yourself to your values and stand unblinkingly behind them. Your considerable strength can now develop an unusual broad appeal. Stay open to the contributions of others as this trine also increases a tendency for intolerance and arrogance.
Aquarius: Even though Uranus in Aries strengthens your rebellious side and spurs you on to explore new horizons – this month Neptune’s soft and conciliatory vibration is predominant. With your desire for freedom you rather tend to step on other people’s toes. Open yourself up to the many precious people who touch you now and help you see things from a higher perspective. Neptune also lures you into solitude where you can discover that even all by yourself you are complete and whole.
Pisces: While Neptune increases your imagination and capacity for surrender and presents you with deep insights, Chiron gifts you the willingness to take life as it is and to warmly welcome all that it holds in store for you. In this sense Chiron puts the ground beneath your feet. October is ideal for refueling physically, spiritually and mentally. Get yourself a massage, paint, listen to music, go for walks, write a poem, and allow yourself to be inspired by sages, artists, healers, and mystics.
