Mood of the Moment

April, too, bursts with dynamism, heralding movement and change, yet without escalation. Relationship issues contribute to the general restlessness, mostly in a positive, inspiring way. As we are drawing closer to the next Uranus-Pluto Square at the end of May, power issues are again coming to the fore. The more we can relax with the question ‘Who is right?’ the less we are liable to be blown off our feet by headwinds. This is even less likely to happen in the second half of the month, when the fiery Aries energy will be superseded by the earthier energy of Taurus.

Mercury is the only one remaining in Aries to inspire mental and verbal processes in the second half of April. Combined with acumen, this kind of passionate thinking may be used to get right to the bottom of things. Now, break-through ideas could open perspectives we hadn’t imagined in our boldest dreams. Mars in Taurus will be able to implement those ideas in the most practical way.

Saturn in Scorpio insists on setting aside cozy mediocrity and mere feel-good levels: niceties and gradual building or dismantling processes are countered with the urge for uncompromising ruthlessness. The solution lies in the middle: firmly sticking to whatever corresponds to your own truth – friendly, but clear.

AriesAries: Even though the passionate spirit will mellow, the high energy stays on and needs to be handled intelligently. During the first half of the month, it is particularly your relationships that profit from the powerful dynamics. From mid-month onwards, Saturn makes itself felt, asking for compromises and a more distinct direction. But the power that wants to forge ahead and conquer new territory will be dominant. Place the emphasis on dismantling mental barriers – in your own experience as well as in others’.

TaurusTaurus: The first half of April is still under the impact of the boisterous free spirit of last month. But in the second half things will calm down and relent. A lot of energy continues to be available to you, but now you will be able to apply it in your usual, relaxed way, step by step, in order to reach your goals. Saturn makes itself felt as a counterforce, particularly in power issues. Face the challenge, even if it slows things down and may feel uncomfortable sometimes.

GeminiGemini: In the first half of the month, the energy tends to be introverted. Expansion now takes place mostly in the mental and spiritual realm – this will fundamentally change, though, with Mercury entering Aries. Now, spring comes rushing in with force. Radically new developments become possible, affording you considerably more scope for action. Sometimes, however, you must fight for your ideas – remain fair. Expansions now concern your inner life as well as outer circumstances.

CancerCancer: The arch of tension, culminating with the third Uranus-Pluto-square by the end of May, is gathering momentum. In April, this turbulent energy is still manageable, resulting in love of experimentation, independence, courage, creativity, authenticity, and depth. In the first half of the month, in many areas you can do some spring cleaning and initiate new developments. In the second half, your thirst for intensity and uncompromising truth can only be quenched in creative or spiritual dimensions.

LeoLeo: Go for anything that promises liveliness and zest for living while keeping power issues out. With the sun in Aries, find creative ways to express your energy. In the first half of the month, you will greatly benefit from exercising in sun, wind, and rain, so as to prevent energy from getting stuck. By the second half, find softer forms of movement, like swimming or dancing. Now, also find ways to reconcile the mundane and the spiritual: meditate in the forest, do a tea ceremony, explore tantra.

VirgoVirgo: Absolute standards can make you just as unhappy as an ‘anything goes’. You often struggle for the golden mean and for more equanimity. Examine your values and find out if they enrich your life. Or, rather, do they burden you – either because you yourself or others so rarely come up to their standards? If they burden you, attenuate them. If they enrich you, leave them as they are. If they do neither the one nor the other, it is time to question them in principle.

LibraLibra: The first half of the month promises exciting amorous affairs. If you have a steady partner, plan for exciting activities together. Discover your partner afresh. In the second half of the month, spiritual and healing issues move to the fore. Pluto grants depth, Neptune opens you up to mystical dimensions, and Chiron helps you to reconcile both with the limitations of everyday life. Saturn challenges you by urging you to encounter your innermost truth instead of seeking the easy way out.

ScorpioScorpio: Although you have been in a kind of stalemate situation since last autumn, you are pretty good at managing the status quo. You trust that there is a deeper meaning even if it is not yet obvious. The problems will only clear up for good in autumn. In the second half of April, allow yourself to be enriched by the positive and loving energies that are actually available rather than spying for possible traps. Relax – the world isn’t as bad as you think.

SagittariusSagittarius: Dynamic lightness is the motto of the month. Dynamic you are, but if you take your aims and convictions too seriously, the lightness is easily lost. Nothing against idealism – as long as it doesn’t deteriorate into fanaticism. Right now it should not be too difficult for you to tolerate other approaches: even if they don’t agree with you, you can take them with humour and farsightedness. If you know that your truth is as valid as other people’s truth you need not brace yourself against them.

CapricornCapricorn: Pluto turning retrograde means that the tensions caused by the Uranus-Pluto square should be solved within the coming half year, mainly within yourself. Chiron supports you with sound realism and pragmatism, encouraging you to let go of all over-ambitious aims. You need not tackle ever-higher hurdles. Spare your nerves and do only what obviously needs to be done. This requires a change of thinking, but frees the way to satisfactory human encounters. Pamper yourself in the last third of April.

AquariusAquarius: Since the inner and outer turmoil subsides for a while in April, you can use the respite and evaluate your situation. Look at what began in late autumn, being particularly mindful of the ratio of freedom to commitment. Whatever yet needs to be improved has time until October to unfold. For now, the necessary change should take place mainly on the mental level: new impulses are needed. In order to develop them, move out of the familiar environment and actively search for inspirations.

PiscesPisces: An April full of blessings. Pluto connects you with your innermost resources and in this way helps you to become whole and sound, or rather discover your actual wholeness. This will endow you with the necessary inner strength, relaxation and calmness to face even revolutionary changes. You know and trust that you are carried by life, i.e. by your own faculties, as well as the support of others. Your surrender to what is, positively combines with the courage to vigorously pursue your aims.
