From Ila we hear that Ma Anand Niraj left her body in a Munich hospital on Saturday afternoon, around the time of Gurupurnima Full Moon. Niraj had had an operation for breast cancer a month ago – which went quite smooth – but on the day she died she suddenly felt weak and could no longer get up. She died from an aneurysm of the heart.
She was born on 1.8.1940 in Berlin (during the war) and took sannyas in 1978. She lived in Pune 1 and was part of the Munich Commune. She also spent some time in Rajneeshpuram and stayed for long periods in Pune 2. Her connection with Osho was always the most important thing in her life.
She had gone through difficult experiences in her life and was able to sense when others had too, and was good at supporting them. A few years ago her eye sight started deteriorating, but she kept taking care of the elderly until she herself needed help.
In the past we used to celebrate her birthday in a Munich Biergarten … this year we will still toast for her!

Beloved Niraj, now – so unexpected on the full moon day of Gurupurnima – you have gone to the Lord of the full moon Osho – embraced. I am so grateful that you were in my Life here on this planet. We had so much fun together. I always enjoyed you. You still feel so present to me as I talking with you days before your departure. I will celebrate your birthday with you and maybe other friends of yours. You are always in my heart, beloved Niraj.
