There are more tourists and fewer residents in the historic city of Venice. Massive ocean liners dwarf the skyline of the ‘Queen of the Adriatic’, bringing in 1,5 million tourists every year to a city that has lost more than half its native population in the past 50 years. Traditional retail outlets have made way to souvenir shops; fast food restaurants abound… the Venetians who remain are trying to find ways to reclaim their city.
