Jivan Nadi

Journeys

(25 August 1936 – 22 February 2024)

Jivan NadiJivan Nadi (Yone Marion Muller Martinez) was born in Porto Alegre (RS), Brazil, on 25 August 1936 and passed away on 22 February 2024, in Florianópolis, Brazil. A celebration with family and friends took place on 23 February at the Jardim da Paz Cemetery.

She taught yoga courses for 13 years in her own space, the Centro Humano. Her training as a teacher included specialization studies at the Yoga Institute Bombay, India, which she took in 1973.

From 1979 to 1983 she trained in Biodanza with the creator and co-creator of the system, the Chilean anthropologist Rolando Toro and teacher Cecília Luzzi. Based on the discipline of movement and love, Biodanza is a therapeutic system that has transformed the lives of thousands of people all over the world.

In 1984, Jivan Nadi then founded the Porto Alegre Biodanza Training School, the first in Rio Grande do Sul. For more than 10 years, she worked with Rolando Toro, training 32 teachers.

Returning to India in 1990, she spent time at the Osho International Commune in Pune, became a disciple of Osho and received the name Jivan Nadi (River of Life). From 1993 to 1997, she trained at the Osho Multiversity where she learned about the benefits of Dynamic Meditation combined with cutting-edge Western therapies, such as: Craniosacral Integration Therapy, Multi-dimensional Body Work (Chakra Training), Breath Therapy Training (Rebirthing), Neo Reichian Therapy, Arun Conscious Touch and became Reiki Master.

In the 1990s she interspersed her stays in India with stays in Ibiza, Spain, where she had the opportunity to share what she had learnt in various workshops and also in individual sessions. Until 2007, while in Ibiza, she channelled all her previous experiences with Biodanza and introduced and developed pioneering work in this field. In November 2006, she was initiated into Deeksha Giving (Oneness Blessing TM) at the Oneness University in Chennai, India, and began to include the transfer of Deeksha energy in her personal and therapeutic practice.

Throughout her journey of self-knowledge, she experienced profound transformations when she met and shared the presence of masters such as: Om C. Parkin (Mystery School, Germany); Prem Rawat Maharaji (Key Process – Techniques of Knowledge, Spain); Sri Amma Bhagavan (21-day process in Golden City, India); and Leslie Temple Thurston (Returning to Unity, Brazil).

In 2007, she moved back to Brazil, this time to Florianópolis, where she led groups and individual sessions, giving teachings based on her life and work experience as a professional therapist, which included decades as a spiritual seeker. The goal of Jivan Nadi’s work was self-knowledge as a source of satisfaction in a state of presence and relaxation in the moment.

“I feel immensely grateful to have been in the presence of Shree Bhagwan and Amma, and the two Avatars who founded Oneness University. I feel blessed to have met so many accomplished people who have supported my journey home to Essence. I am grateful to have been to so many countries, met so many cultures, so many authentic and wonderful people, and to have received their wisdom, their living truth. I am deeply grateful to Osho, who gave me the name Jivan Nadi, River of Life, as a constant reminder to be like a flowing river.”
