Gardens, her great love

by Nirada

Shanti / Pravira (Celia Teresita Freidenberg) left her body in Argentina on 8 August 2024.

From about 1988, I was often in contact with her, from working in the Buddha Hall garden, and later from Tibetan Pulsing. After Osho left his body she went to see Papaji, then moved to Tiruvannamalai.

From Argentina, her home country, most years she visited Monte Sahaja, Mooji’s Ashram in Portugal, until her last stay there in summer 2023, always doing her Seva in the gardens, her great love, as was her little garden at home.

After being in a lot of pain, which took all the courage and awareness she could muster, she finally decided she had had enough and asked for an assisted departure.

May your spark of consciousness be blessed with a well-deserved rest in the lap of God, before continuing on the journey.

One of a kind

by Anasuya

We are all unique beings but Pravira / Shanti was definitely one of a kind, tracing her own path, speaking directly her mind. Her life was only about seeking the Truth, and a very dedicated seeker she was, endlessly enquiring, reading about Masters, discussing the teachings with friends, using doubts to dig into a troubling matter until peace was found. She also had the ability to sit absorbed in silence regardless of her troubling body.

Shanti has been a life time fellow traveler. In Osho’s commune she was named Pravira by Osho, then got the name Shanti from Papaji. She spent several years in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, then moved to Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, after Papaji died. Later on she moved back to Argentina where she was born, got herself a little house in a village, but spent every winter in Tiruvannamalai, at the feet of the holy mountain Arunachala. The last years of her life she would spend her winters with Mooji in South Portugal. We would connect once in a while, in trust and love. I cannot forget her coarse voice and laughter, her honesty and her kindness.

Shanti means Peace, may you rest in your own true Self, dearest sister and gurubai.

Wishing you a beautiful journey, Pravira… I had come across the question and answer in ‘The Hidden Splendor’ some time ago, and it is nice to meet the sannyasins and their lives who were there to see Osho during his time on planet Earth.
