Our dear Pragati will be missed by many!
by Mahadevi
Our beloved Pragati left the body in her sleep. Her wish came true. Just a few weeks before her passing she had expressed to me that she would like to leave the body in her sleep.
She was a true sanyasin and her love for Osho was unwavering all these years.
In 1990, she went to see Papaji in Lucknow, and her spiritual growth deepened there during the years she was with him.
(Osho had originally given her the name Pragito. She then received the new name, Pragati, from Papaji.)
Pragati lived in Amsterdam for many many years and had a deep love affair with Svado, the love of her life. They were closely connected until his passing.
In later years she emigrated to Mallorca together with Eva, a close friend from her early days in Germany. It’s Eva who found Pragati when she passed away. They had shared their daily living till the end.
In Mallorca she had many close friends and her house was open to a wide circle of friends who came to visit her regularly. Too many names to mention here as with every one of them she kept a truly lively friendship.
She was part of the family of Huub (Niketana), his wife and children; they were home in Mallorca as she was home with them. As she was an only child, this family bond meant a lot to her and she expressed that with her giving nature.
Pragati was also closely connected to Karl Renz and his teachings.
Many friends have enjoyed her true friendship and she was loyal to every one of them. Always giving, caring and lending a listening ear. She was loved and cherished by many.
Pragati lived her life in freedom and integrated the teachings of her Masters in her daily life. She was a wise woman with deep insights and had the ability to share her wisdom in words with great passion.
I sense her freedom now that she has left her body, and I feel that only love remains, and that her death can be celebrated as she has celebrated her life.
I am writing this tribute in great love for such a truly loyal friend. I know that I cannot give a total picture of her, as her life and connections were so abundant.
Pragati, thank you for your unique friendship.
