After 38 years of continuous publication, the Italian Osho Times (OT) will release its final printed issue at the end of this month

With the conclusion of the magazine’s print edition, Oshoba – the organisation behind OT – will continue its regular activities. These include the publication and distribution of Osho’s books (oshoba.it), the organisation of the annual seaside mega-meditation festival and silent meditation retreats (oshoexperience.it), and the sale of meditation implements (oshoba.it).
The newsletter will also continue to be distributed twice a month.
From January onward, each issue will feature, as usual, an editorial by Akarmo or Marga, along with links to a newly translated Osho discourse, an article or a discourse excerpt from a past issue, and Marga’s monthly Human Design transits. Those who read Italian and are not yet subscribed to the free newsletter can do so at: oshotimes.it
A special printed issue will come out for the annual Osho Festival, and back issues are available while supplies last (oshoba.it).
Following the closure of the German Osho Times five years ago, the remaining printed Osho publications are now the bi-monthly English-language Viha Connection (oshoviha.org) and the Hindi-language Patrika, published by Osho World (oshoworld.com). Another Hindi publication, Yes Osho! by Sanjay, is available as a beautifully designed PDF edition (facebook.com).
Similar to the Italian newsletter, Uta in Cologne sends out newsletters, primarily advertising its workshops, along with links (oshouta.de) to a translated discourse by Osho and Anandi’s horoscope. Subscribe at: oshouta.de
And in the Netherlands, Vrienden van Osho distributes a monthly newsletter with translations of discourses, articles and excerpts from new books. Subscribe at: vrienden-van-osho.nl
The Osho Times International (English edition), published from Pune and since 2009 only available online, continues to offer a monthly discourse excerpt and occasional “Short Takes.” Readers can subscribe to a free newsletter at: oshotimes.com (available in several languages).
These developments reflect broader trends among readers – both younger and older – who increasingly prefer free online content. The rising costs of paper, ink, printing, and distribution have also played a significant role in the shift away from print.
Already in the Portrait of Oshoba & The Italian Osho Times, published in 2013 to mark their 20th anniversary, Akarmo described his experience as “a tightrope dance to bring Osho into the Italian consciousness.” The journey, clearly, has not been an easy one.
The closure of the Italian OT marks a significant loss for Osho News in terms of collaboration and networking. Over the years, both publications have shared and translated numerous articles, allowing for rich cross-cultural exchange between English- and Italian-speaking readers.
Many of the OT team members have long been personally known from the Pune days – among them Akarmo (director), Marga (editor-in-chief, translator, and author – known via Zoom), Gila (e-shop, production), and Dhana (advertising and proofreading). A special mention goes to Sahaja, who served as editor-in-chief till his retirement in 2012, and who passed away in 2018.
Marga, we are happy to announce, will continue to contribute with her original Human Design essays and monthly transit reports to Osho News.
She writes, “I feel honoured that, after 21 years of commitment, I have been able to bring to completion such an important project in the world of Osho. It has truly been a love affair, probably the longest in my life, and has kept me in constant satsang with Osho’s transmission. Some might perceive this now as a loss, but for me the prevalent feeling is gratitude, as I have been graced for such a long time…
“One of my favourite Osho quotes that can express, as usual, much better than I could: ‘It must be remembered that whatever occurs at the end of some event was also present in the beginning. The end is simply the beginning in its manifest form.’” (The Long, the Short and the All, Ch 1)
We extend our best wishes to the Osho Times team for a happy and well-earned retirement – or a successful start to the next chapter of their journey.
