It has been reported this morning, on April 1, that kitchens in residences of several dozen high-ranking world politicians have been infiltrated overnight. The smugglers deposited on the counters home-made biscuits incorporating what forensics now presume were highly potent magic mushrooms – ready to be served on breakfast trays.
The mishap only came to the attention of the international media when journalists and paparazzi started reporting politicians laying off all their staff, calling in ‘sick’, and then lying on their backs next to their pools, still in their bathrobes, looking at the sky and muttering, “Groovy! Groovy!”
Google has simultaneously reported that searches for vintage VW vans have gone up 600% since this morning. In lower-income countries, where these vans are still in circulation, various thefts have also been reported.
At one residence’s gate, the politician who was leaving for a stroll to a near-by national park, barefoot and with a boom-box under his arm, was overheard saying, “I never realised how beautiful life could be! I see now that I have only been chasing my own ego! Now everything is different. At the moment I just have this great urge to wear bell bottoms and listen to music!”
All security services are now investigating how such coordinated, simultaneous actions, spanning the whole globe, could have been executed under their very noses. At present the incidents are not suspected as being linked to a terrorist organisation.
