Addiction is a journey

It’s taking me some time to find my bearings in the new space/time dimension I am living in at the moment. Time is accelerating because of a dissolution of boundaries, resistance, need for planning and attachment to it, which manifests as an often-uninterrupted flow and, at the same time, space expands.

However, what I want to share here is about my favorite TV series, “Elementary”.

On the surface it is a new, modern take on the cases of Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Dr. Watson (Lucy Liu). However, the very core thread of it is ADDICTION: a recovering heroin addict – Holmes – and his sober companion (Dr Watson).

Obviously, actors, the writer and possibly some of the directors have had personal experience with this issue, as I have had myself. I am amazed at the humanity, compassion, radical honesty, depth and intelligence they keep opening up as they are exploring all the facets of this issue: recovery, constant temptation, lies, self-deception, fragility, abuse, support, realizations about oneself and relating to others, and much much more.
