Throughout my life, I have been attracted to color. When I was 10 years old I made my first oil painting. Unfortunately nobody in my family encouraged me, and as a result, I quit painting altogether.

Then Osho came into my life, and in Poona 2, I asked him about illustrating Mojud, a Sufi story that I have always loved. He answered, “Yes!” – but I had to get it published myself. That was quite a challenge, because I didn’t have any money. I still went ahead, and the book was published in different parts of the world (it was also translated into Spanish).

One day I asked Neelam to send Osho a message. My question was whether we could also have “art groups” in addition to psychology groups. He answered that we should create the School of Creative Arts. Osho was very supportive of our creativity, whatever form it would take.

Then I did Meera’s art groups, and for the first time, I felt the passion I had always had for painting. I continued to paint, did many classes at the University of Alaska, and slowly developed my own style.

Color is the most important element for me.

I realize it is my life energy asserting itself through painting. It comes so naturally, and I always look forward with passion at my times when I can just paint.

Nobody should ever be discouraged if painting is the calling of their soul.

Creativity is such a blessing!
