Artwork by Pawel Its

My journey into the wondrous world of sacred geometry began 30 years ago with the Sri Yantra. Back then I was finishing school and considered myself quite a decent artist when I first saw it. What’s more, I had a strong interest in geometry. It’s hard to put into words the impression the Sri Yantra made on me. I drew it again and again, trying to find a flawless construction. But the secrets of sacred geometry didn’t reveal themselves to me right away. A long journey of inner transformation and significant changes in my way of life lay ahead of me before Existence invited me to create mandalas and guided me into the art of making the hidden patterns of Being visible.
I call my works “Structuring Elements” and present them in two series: Mandalas and Sacred Geometry. In essence, both are mandalas – they’re simply born in different ways. In both, I am at once the author and the conduit; only the balance shifts. In the “Mandalas” series, I create – but not from the mind alone. I work by listening inwardly, always leaving space for what unfolds on its own. I set the direction, and the pattern slowly begins to suggest itself. And in “Sacred Geometry,” everything begins with a discovery: I reveal hidden regularities that already exist in the Universe. And yet I remain the author – because I bring these structures together, choose their relationships and colours, and assemble them into a complete composition.
Behind each of my mandalas are many months of work – and the process isn’t always continuous: sometimes it stretches over years. My mandalas ripen like the fruits of an unseen, mysterious tree – and I never rush them, allowing them to mature for as long as they need, so that they can radiate stillness and serenity, becoming a silent reminder of what is eternal and unshakable: that Love, Kindness, and Beauty are not merely some of the countless elements of the world, but its very foundation and meaning.
