Incredibly, this is where I live now. All of these beauties bloom within a short walk from my front door.
Every day, every month of the year, there is something – usually many things – that stop me in my tracks. It’s the stopping that’s the main event – the looking, the wonder…
Often I think I won’t take another picture of another amazing flower, and sometimes I don’t… but truth be told, when I do, the looking deepens.
I am guided by the light, the framing, the forms that emerge from slight shifts in perspective.
I delight in this mostly thoughtless process, and I am so grateful for the life I’ve been given.
Later, I look at the pictures and delete most of them, but not all…
For the techno-curious: for years now I have used only my iPhone to take pictures, and the SnapSeed app to prepare them.
