Just now, after his passing, we came to discover these wonderful photos Gyaneshwar took in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu. Inevitably, you will find some photos with the holy mountain Arunachala in the background.

His friend Ketan writes about Gyan’s photos: Yes, his photos are very unique and special. I love his photographs, they are so alive, spontaneous and playful (a pure reflection of his being). He had no intention, but his photos are so meaningful! You can feel that for Gyan photography was a play out of wonder and love for people….

Gyaneshwar (Gyan) was born in Barcelona (Spain), studied biology and very soon started to travel. He became a sannyasin in the early 80 and lived in several sannyas communes in Spain, Germany and Holland. The last years he was living in Barcelona and in Thiruvannamalai (India). He loved the simple life around Arunachala, the sacred mountain where the mystic Ramana Maharshi lived his whole life. Gyan’s passion for photography bloomed 10-12 years ago. Gyaneshwar left the body on Feb 1, 2014, in Thiruvannamalai.
