Saclà, the Pesto pioneers and Italian foodies favourite brand, served up a great surprise at John Lewis Foodhall from Waitrose and staged an impromptu Opera in the food aisles.
They planted five secret opera singers disguised as casual shoppers and store staff amongst the groceries; they broke into song bringing the foodhall to a standstill with a rousing rendition of the Italian classic, ‘Funiculì, Funiculà’.
It is a joy to see the trundling-along-shoppers stop in their tracks, their faces lighting up in surprise and smiles erupting all around listening to the music and splendid voices. The female soprano singer carrying around a limp dead fish is not to be missed! Da capo please…
