Sohana’s journey through the chakras ends at the crown with amethysts, crystals and pearls

We have now arrived at the final part of our Romancing the Stones series. The Crown Chakra is the most fascinating one of all. It is the master chakra that governs all others. The Crown Chakra is the principal manifestation of the mind. Many believe that if we can enhance the capabilities of this chakra through clearing, balancing and healing, all of the other chakras become activated and operative.

The following analogy might help: Our brain is like computer hardware that can be measured, fixed, etc. However, our mind is more like software. We can feel it, use it, but cannot see it. And, our emotions are one of the strongest manifestations of our mind. The ancients always depicted the Crown Chakra as a circle of divine light around the head of awakened ones.

Color and properties of the 7th Chakra

The Seventh Chakra, located at the top of the head, is associated with the color white and violet. It is related to our spirituality and the integration of our whole being: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. The Sahasrara in Sanskrit, it is spoken of as the thousand petaled lotus. This Chakra is associated with divine wisdom, our spirit, our Oneness with the Universe, our Unity with all that is, and Enlightenment.

One of the powerful realizations that is associated with the Crown is the affirmation, “I am willing to be responsible for the quality of love and joy I have in my life.” We use the seventh chakra as a tool to communicate with our spiritual nature. It is through this vortex that the life force is dispersed from the universe into the lower 6 chakras. It has been referred to as our spiritual communication center. This chakra is often pictured as a lotus flower opening to allow spiritual awakening in an individual. The Crown Chakra could also be considered the well intuitive knowing is drawn from.

It controls the body parts of the skull, cerebral cortex, skin, right brain, right eye, and their nervous, muscular and skeletal systems.

Symptoms of Unbalanced Crown Chakra

A person who has a blocked Crown Chakra may be unhappy, have no concern for other people’s feelings, have no purpose in life, may be depressed or confused, or have trouble learning things. He/she will have low self-esteem and may feel misunderstood or frustrated with everything. In extreme cases a person may exhibit physical symptoms such as light sensitivity, dementia, cerebral tumors, chronic fatigue, dizziness or even things like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s or epilepsy. It is exciting to know that by activating the Crown we can do much to prevent these things from occurring.

Symptoms of a Balanced Crown Chakra

This is the good part. If your Crown Chakra is balanced, you will be more open to everything and have a better connection to your own divine center of being. You will be more joyful and attracted to spiritual things. You will be able to find joy and wonder in all that you do, and you will have a high sense of creativity.

Exercises to open your Crown Chakra

As we age, unless we pay attention to the spiritual aspects of our own mind, slowly our Crown Chakra becomes less and less operative. It never stops working until death but its cycles become very slow and in turn our mental capabilities become slower and slower.

Prayer and meditation are of course the first things to mention for opening this chakra. Besides this, exercises that stimulate the mind and balance right and left brain such as ‘Brain Buttons’ from Brain Gym are extremely helpful. From my perspective as a kinesiology practitioner, ‘Cook’s Hook-ups’ is by far the most important because it connects all the meridians of the body, balances the brain, creates a feeling of well-being and treats trauma. It is especially helpful if you are feeling stressed, confused, agitated or traumatized but can be used every day by anyone who wants to balance and energize all their chakras.

Sit in a chair and cross your left ankle over the right one. Then hold your arms out in front of you and cross the left arm over the right with the palms touching and thumbs pointing down. Interlace your fingers and bend your arms so that your interlaced fingers are resting on your chest. The next thing is essential. Place the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth about an inch behind the teeth and keep it there. Breathe deeply until you yawn or sigh. Then uncross your legs, place your fingertips together in front of you, keep your tongue in the same poition and keep breathing for another minute.

Crown Chakra Jewelry

Above are three examples of jewelry that energizes the Crown Chakra. The gemstones for the Crown are: Diamonds, Quartz Crystal, Pearl, Moonstone, Fluorite and clear Natural Zircon.

On the left is an Amethyst and Pearl pendant. Amethyst assists our connection with spirit, inspires meditation and service to humanity. Pearl brings purity and longevity.

The center necklace is made of two crystals, Quartz Crystal and Amethyst Crystal. The necklace contains Amethyst and Quartz Crystal beads. This piece was created to assist the wearer to balance and energize the Crown Chakra.

On the right is an Amethyst and Argentine Citrine necklace that energizes both the Crown and Solar Plexus Chakras helping our Spirit to manifest.

I hope you have enjoyed this journey through the chakras and have found it helpful. Please contact me with any questions or comments.
