Mood of the Moment
Beginning in December, a barely perceptible reorientation into a new direction sets in. Events that began in March/April or in June are now being re-evaluated and processed, if not revived. The whole month is above all a month of reflection; understandings and insights that are now being attained will be the cause of crucial turning points in 2012: in science and technology, in sports and military, in politics, psychology, philosophy and spirituality. Freedom and the struggle for freedom tops the priority list. There is a danger that all too rapid changes may by-pass our real needs and changes will be acquired outwardly, while inwardly, the old structures maintain their dominance (this applies for the society as well as the individual).
Thoughts and emotions are closely linked, and this alliance is not always a humane one. When thoughts turn out upon closer scrutiny to be rationalisations of emotions, the result is often destructive. That’s why it is now primarily about developing a super ordinate perspective, able to look at both our emotions and thoughts instead of getting entangled in them. After meditating decisions are often easier because one is able to consider matters from this higher vantage point. In fact, just a brief moment of pause is enough to gain clarity; three deep breaths of no-mind suffice in order to reveal what really matters – that which will remain, even without thought.
Aries: First of all it is about finding the right measure – not too fast and not too slow, not too loud and not too quiet, not too easy and not too difficult. That requires constant adjustment and inhibits your spontaneity. But it’s worth it as you can rely on whatever the result will be. From the 10th onwards Uranus makes his presence felt more strongly and demands independence, new engagements, less routine. The question is: What is freedom to you, which kind of freedom helps you along?
Taurus: An intensely energetic month that can completely draw you under its spell. On the one hand keep looking for imaginative ways of expressions, on the other hand look for routine activities to calm and ground yourself. More ease will gradually develop during the second half of December. Try out something new in a playful way and develop a new perspective particularly in your work that will carry you beyond the familiar. You’ve got time until June to make it happen. Lilith encourages you to find your own style.
Gemini: With the lunar eclipse in your sign it is time for transformation – particularly as far as your emotional and thought patterns are concerned. Don’t fool yourself but own up to what you really think and feel. Otherwise you might become engaged in pseudo fights with other people – who in fact are only meant to reflect the naked truth to you. In the last third of the month you can break some chains but this too demands the courage for radical steps that are in line with your truth.
Cancer: In the first half of the month it is about a new look at your thought patterns. Many are as old as the hills, perhaps dating back to childhood or past lives. Some aren’t even yours but actually belong to the collective mind. In order to get rid of them you only have to see them for what they are: thoughts. Nothing else. They are definitely not you – for you are the one who has them. In the second half of December it’s about building up a new authentic intellectual base for yourself.
Leo: Flexibility is now the magic word. If you only drive on a single track you end up in quarrels, feeling threatened or disrespected. Try out various positions and look at the situation from different angles, particularly when you realize that you are emotionally involved. Expanding your horizon won’t suffice to liberate yourself from all inner and outer restraints but will make you feel looser, more relaxed. By the end of December Pluto insists on uncompromising integrity that does not inflict hurt.
Virgo: During this month allow yourself to drop into the silence from which clarity arises. In early December Mars in your sign will amplify a tendency for impatience, irritability, rash words and actions. It is usually mostly due to perfectionism – neither you nor others have to manage everything perfectly in order to make possible that which already is possible here and now: Putting aside for a moment everything that was so important just now, look into the sky, onto a tree or into your heart and breathe deeply.
Libra: Despite high intensity and friction, in your innermost core you can feel in tune with the flow of things. Love, beauty, and gracefulness are equally dear to you as are justice, maturity, and continuity. Don’t let them come into conflict with one another. Perhaps you cannot even imagine that both sides can unite – open up to this possibility. First an interaction needs to happen within you and then it will also become manifest in your life. The keyword is freedom.
Scorpio: In the first half of the month it’s in your relationships where growth can happen. Take particular note of what people to whom you react strongly – either positively or negatively – reflect. That to which you react reflects an aspect of your personality. Pay attention to both the positive and the negative reflections; don’t reject anything but accept them all. You are larger than all reflections combined. In the second half of the month shift your focus on what you yourself reflect back to others – again, both positively and negatively.
Sagittarius: Actively contemplating helps to find your inner viewpoint and achieve clarity. In early December, however, you tend to identify with your starting point and strike wildly around as soon as your identification is being questioned. That way you miss your chance to discover the truth. In the second half of December much will become clarified, broadened and opened up; communicate your position and find out how to manifest it. Don’t be satisfied with half measures.
Capricorn: With Pluto and Saturn emotions intensify. Intensity often leads to identification – with the emotion, with the trigger for the emotion, or wishing the emotion or the trigger should be other than they are. All of this is the best program for emotional pain. In order not to get caught up in it better stop the process as soon as you feel it coming. How? By paying no attention to the emotion or the trigger but by remembering yourself – the one who perceives both but is independent of it.
Aquarius: Uranus begins to move forward again and things that have been long in the making are now opening up, starting to sprout, to unfold and grow. This month follow when love stirs in your heart. You may sometimes be surprised where this is going to lead you to – particularly if it doesn’t match your desires. Don’t let yourself be ruled by them but check carefully if they arise from your true needs. Maybe your desires are an expression of convenience, apathy or risk aversion.
Pisces: This month you can enjoy Chiron’s presence in your sign – which means you can relax into the suchness of things even though they sometimes appear colourless and mediocre. Chiron invites you to accept normality as part of life. Let your dreams sparkle and shimmer – what matters is not to overrate them or even expect your life to be as brilliant. Befriend ordinariness now for Chiron will remain at your side for another seven years.
