…left her body on 9th September 2014.

Born Ellen Bower on 19th August 1950 in Maltby, Leela left her earthly body as the super-moon set in the early hours of Tuesday 9th September 2014 after being diagnosed with a Gioblastoma while traveling in India with friends in early 2014. She was at her home and with friends when she passed.

Leela was a disciple of Osho for many years. She ran for Sheffield Green Party in 2011. She was part of Sheffield’s Equality Commission and an active supporter of the Occupy movement.

Her funeral is taking place at 2pm this Thursday 18th September at Hutcliffe Wood Crematorium and will be followed by a celebration of her life at Hagglers Corner from 4pm. In keeping with Leela’s wishes her ashes will be scattered down at Osho Leela in Dorset. Details of this will be shared on www.facebook.com

She was indeed a Queen of Play:
Leela, Leela… Life is Just A Play…

I remember Leela so well from Osho Leela in Dorset, England, and also from Croydon Hall in Somerset, England. We met in the dormitory at Osho Leela and liked each other from that very first moment. Leela was different, quite outspoken and a rebel, with a good sense of humour and a big love for beloved Osho. I remember Leela at Croydon Hall walking around with her mala on over her robe, very proud and regal looking.

Leela loved to have a good time and a good laugh. We often spent time chatting in the smoking temple. I will miss beloved Leela. We continued to have a good friendship long after we first met…. Hopefully we will meet again one day in another life….<3 Sharmi Agnidipta

Joy and freedom!
Love to you Leela and thanks for all the joy shared while being at Croydon Hall. So much laughter while doing the laundry or cleaning the rooms! Keep free and keep laughing:-)
