Street Meditation in Zurich

Shrila Prem Paras guided a meditation with words and tunes on his guitar in the Rieterpark, on 23rd September 2016.

In the way of a flashmob, 240 people joined a meditation in a beautiful park in Zurich, Switzerland. They were mostly young people from different backgrounds, many of whom had never meditated before. The meditation which included Laughter Yoga (Shiv Yoga) lasted one hour and the participants experienced deep relaxation and bliss. The event was organised by the group Alltagshelden which helps connect people with others, with themselves, and to share their silence.

The meditation was guided by Swami Shrila Prem Paras. The feedback was so positive, that Paras decided to organise a meditative event in a Zurich public space every month.

Three years ago Paras started with a worldwide online meditation on Skype and since live video function has been available on Facebook he has used this newest medium as well.

Prem Paras was born in Jabalpur in 1975 and took sannyas at age 26. In 2003 he played at the Osho Samadhi in Pune. He presently lives in Zurich, Switzerland, but conducts his Sur Khumaris (concerts and meditation workshops) worldwide.
