Irish Mukta writes:
My beloved friend, companion and husband, Swami Dhyan John (John Cooper), died with ease and grace just before Christmas. He had prostate cancer.
He grew up in Ohio and spent the last 16 years in Ireland, with Germany, UK, Italy and Belgium all featuring post-ranch.
You may remember him as a chai wallah in No 70 towards the end of Pune 1, and as a Motorola technician and maths teacher on the ranch.
Safe journey onwards, John.
Till we meet again.
Am shocked to hear of John’s passing. I was just thinking of him the past day. Maybe because I was watching ‘30 years of Have I got News for You!’ I lived for a while in one of the many sannyasin shared houses in Muswell Hill in the 90’s. Mukta and John lived there too and he loved to watch the Have I got News for You show. Lovely man. Wishing you a good onward journey, John. I am sure you are well taken care of…
Yes! I so remember you as our chai wallah in #70. A great sense of humor and we had so much fun there! Fly high beloved swamiji. May your journey into light be smooth. And blessings for the loves you have left here.

We met Mukta and John for the first time in Freiburg in Southern Germany during our time at Software Sidoun, a company full of Sannyasins. In later years we were always welcome to John and Mukta´s house in Ireland. They cooked delicious vegetarian food and took us to wonderful nature like the bluebell forest and megalithic sites and showed us great places in Dublin.
We will always remember you as a warmhearted, humorous man with a brilliant mind and a whimsical smile in your bright blue eyes. Thank you for everything!
