(24 November 1934 – 14 November 2022)
Rashida D’Agostino was born in Italy, in San Marco dei Cavoti, Campania. She was a teacher for Italian language in Como, Northern Italy, and took sannyas in 1981. When Osho returned to Pune, she spent most of the time at the Osho commune there.
In later years, as a pensioner, she bought a flat in Koregaon Park which she sold around four years ago when she decided she could no longer easily travel back and forth, and so settled again in Italy.
Shola, who sent us this message writes, “She was a very bubbly person, always wearing pigtails, with a very girlish energy,” as you can see from the photos taken at a party.
I have such good memories of her. We were neighbors in 1992, and sometimes we exchanged dishes from our regions. Of her I remember as if it were still today, things like: Should we open a restaurant and add a tailor shop to it that sells unique garments?
She was always full of dreams. The great thing was that her dreams lasted only 2 minutes, after which more dreams would pop up without warning. She was full of unstoppable energy; she always had a beautiful smile and was ready to help you even when she didn’t need to, a true dadaist.
