A letter by Osho to Deriaji (aka Babulal Ji Deria), dated 19 January 1960
Respected Deriaji,
I have received with joy your kind letter and invitation. Although I am getting invited, I rarely go these days; the mind is undergoing a profound transformation. The infinite mystery of death becomes clearer.
Truth is where no thoughts are, where there is no ‘I’. Truth is not found through thinking. It exists in the absence of thought.
As this realization is deepening, speaking seems futile. Therefore, the mind does not feel like coming. But if you do not agree, then I will come, only for a day – the last day. I will not speak much and just participate in a small discussion.
Rest is well.
Greetings to everyone.

Deriaji (aka Babulal Ji Deria) (1917-1972) was a prominent freedom fighter for India’s independence from British rule and became acquainted with Osho’s father. He was of great help to Osho, introducing him to well-connected people who arranged speaking events and helped him get the teaching posts in Raipur and Jabalpur.
