(21 February 1947 – 19 November 2023)
Sw Prem Nirdosh (aka Noddy, Ian Brown), originally from the UK, lived in Fremantle, Australia and later in New Zealand. He also lived and worked as an electrician on the Ranch ca. 1980-1985, where he was Mahbuba’s partner, and afterwards in Pune.
He had been living in Purau, Lyttelton Harbour, Christchurch, New Zealand with his partner Mareile, where they were surrounded by a great community, in a very beautiful place.
Before his death, Nirdosh received the visit of his three daughters – Sarah, Rachel and Romany – and of Mahbuba. He was lovingly supported by all around him who sang songs to him as he left his body.
As the cancer was progressing, he had planned his celebration, in true Nirdosh style it was going to be full of music, dance, colour and joy!
His laughter, love of life and depth of being will remain with us, as we say goodbye and fare-thee-well to a precious soul.
With Love,
Deva Alice
In the 90’s, Nirdosh was my big love for a year in Pune. People used to call us ‘sticky lollies’, because we couldn’t stay too long apart from each other. It was a big and deep experience for me. He was a man full of amazing life energy; creative, funny, joyful, deep, truthful, committed, and with every cell devoted to Osho’s message.
Here I had met a man with who I could share my path with Osho in totality. It’s been so life changing that during this period of my life I could do quantum leaps. In that time Nirdosh always said that the red carpet was laid out for me. He was part of that, though, as I felt so loved by him the way I had never experienced before. Plus there was the living and working in the ashram. An awesome year…
We went to the Himalayas together with Razal and had an amazing three weeks’ trekking up to Kala Patthar, which is higher than the Everest Camp. From up there we could look down to the tents of those who wanted to make a career and climb up the peak of Mount Everest. For us it was pure meditation at every step.
Nirdosh was so clearly devoted to Osho’s vision that he even felt that death would be the greatest let-go, experience and celebration. As I read in the text above, it sounds like that’s what he did; celebrate with the loving community around him while leaving his body. You made it, Nirdosh!
Since I heard of his leaving I have been feeling him very strongly; all the memories came back with his intensity. And so much thankfulness towards him and that amazing year we had shared.
I hope he did not have to suffer too much pain.
And to his dear partner, Mareile, my deepest loving condolences for your loss. A big big loving hug to her and all who loved him so dearly.

Farewell and hello, my jolly good mate Nirdosh, who played and worshipped with me at engineering on the ranch where we got the ranch Samadhi crematorium working in the nick of time and subsequently played at esoterics together and how to live with one eye.
