An exhibition of Rashid’s most recent paintings at the Gallery Different in Central London, 2-5 October 2024
Rashid Maxwell’s upcoming exhibition, Drawn In, is an invitation to embark on a profound journey of silence; a collection of 29 of his paintings, acrylic on canvas, will be on show at Gallery Different, Fitzrovia in central London. His art is a direct result of his own meditative practice, inviting viewers to embark on their own inward exploration. Each canvas is a gateway to the depths of consciousness, offering a chance for us to reconnect with the silent witness within. The exhibition promises to be a truly enriching experience.
First meditation, then out of meditation there is the spontaneity of creativity.
Osho, From Bondage to Freedom, Ch 17
Rashid’s art is a manifestation of this teaching. It provides a space where the mind can find stillness and the soul can expand.
This show is an invitation for all sannyasins and friends to attend and celebrate the extraordinary and to experience the transformative power of art as an instrument for meditation.
Some will remember Rashid in the communes as a gardener or a guard, although his original profession was that of artist / painter and art therapist. Think of the calligraphy student sent by his Zen master to be groundsman in a bamboo forest for 10 years…
