“Wouldn’t it be interesting to write down all the things that we have, instead of being driven by the mind to have more?” suggests Subhan
What if we looked at our world with fresh eyes?
Wouldn’t we see amazing things that every day we take for granted? Something as simple as the button and button hole? Or the zipper? Or hot and cold running water? Or that we have food on the table, and a roof over our heads? Or our heating and air conditioning? Or that we eat peanut butter and the body turns it into energy and blood and bone? Or that we are on the planet, alive, breathing and experiencing? Or that we have the capacity to connect with others sometimes, in a loving, caring way?
Wouldn’t it be interesting to write down all the things that we have, instead of being driven by the mind to have more?
There is an amazing recognition that we all can have! It is that nothing is promised or secure or is a ‘given’. That life is always insecure, and changes from moment to moment!
If we truly understand this, then we may be able to appreciate and be grateful for what has been, and continues to be, given! And we can even recognize the gifts of the body – the senses, the breathing, the heartbeat, and everything else that the body is doing to keep us alive on this planet!
