A Valentine to Walking

Poetry

A poem Madhuri wrote today

On a walk by Madhuri

It’s kind of flying
Freed from computer and care
Hips invisible and silent
like wings

I take in the wild world
and the world half-tamed:
path and cobblestone,
field and breathing wood
– all husbanded, yet free
to sniff and waft and be
as cold as Goddess wills
as wet as anything
as mossy, mouldy,
lumpy and abrupt
as anything that spins out of
the Great Interior of Being –

I love to walk
under the endless sky
visited by Unknowing
in its sparkly affection
kissing me like mist does
