A song by Shunyo Mahom from his upcoming CD, Space of the Heart

You asked for a personal account of the origin of the song. Not much to say…
Basically, it just happened one morning here at Osho Nirvana Ashram when I was playing with the D-chord riff you hear throughout the song on my guitar.
I wasn’t thinking of writing a song, just fooling around on the guitar and the song wrote itself.
You know, what happens after one steps “Off the Edge” with Osho: things just happen through his grace.
Lyrics
First verse:
Good times come, good times go
How’s a boy or girl to know, is
There a truth which doesn’t change?
Who is this who sees life change?
Second verse:
Bad times come, bad times go.
How is some-one to know, is
There a truth which doesn’t change?
Who is this who sees life change?
Chorus:
Deep inside is a watchful eye,
Consciousness, inner light,
Watching thoughts and dreams,
All life brings,
A watcher on a hill.
Third verse:
Who is this who sees my thoughts,
Who is free, never caught
By the trap of mind’s chatter?
Who is spirit, not matter?
Chorus:
Deep inside is a watchful eye,
Consciousness, inner light,
Watching thoughts and dreams,
All life brings,
A watcher on a hill.
Repeat chorus, then a prayer:
Be silent,
Conscious,
A watcher
On a hill.
Repeat prayer:
Be silent,
Conscious,
A watcher
On a hill.
