“…and, everything is perfect,” writes Subhan

Nothing is perfect.
And, everything is perfect.
Just a little exploration will reveal that these two statements are complementary, not contradictory!
Your own experience has probably already revealed to you that perfection is the mind’s ideal of something possible in the future. But, no matter how hard you try to achieve it, it always seems to be beyond your grasp!
With a little inquiry, it becomes apparent that “perfect” is an illusion, a dream of something that the mind imagines could be. But it never arrives, and it has no substance in reality. And so, it produces anxiety and fear and worry and frustration, in an attempt to reach it, but it can never be reached because it doesn’t exist!
By just observing our lives, we will recognize that this ideal of “perfect” is like the horizon. It seems to be there, just a little ahead. But, it never arrives! And even if it appears to arrive, it disappears “like spit on a griddle!”
So, nothing is perfect. And, with this experiential understanding, perfectionism dies.
If, however, there is a stepping back from the mind – even for a moment – it can be observed that everything is exactly the way it is. Without the mind imposing its notions on what is, there’s no comparison with an ideal or with anything. There’s no judgment, and no expectation of how it could or should be. And there’s no need to fight with it. There is only the present and the flow of what is. And from that place, there is no need to object to what is. It simply is! The result is, in a real sense, that everything is “perfect” exactly the way it is.
No fight, no ideal, no perfection to reach. What is, is. And what isn’t, isn’t.
So the good news is:
Nothing is perfect.
And, the other good news is:
Everything is perfect!
