Osho Dham Newsletter

Osho’s talks, photographs, letters and the memories of those who knew him are scattered across archives, communes and private collections. The Osho Dham Monthly Newsletter, now five issues in, brings a small selection of this material together each month – a few minutes’ reading that can be carried anywhere.

Each issue is built around a single theme, usually drawn from the dates falling that month. September, for instance, coincided with Krishna’s birthday and became an exploration of how Osho understood Krishna – alongside Teachers’ Day, which led into his views on the relationship between teacher and student; International Day of Democracy, which opened onto his reflections on freedom and structure; and World Suicide Prevention Day, addressed through his understanding of life and death.

The newsletter is structured around a set of recurring sections:

Book of the Month and Meditation of the Month – an introduction to one of Osho’s discourses, paired with a meditation to try rather than simply read about.

From the Archive – photographs and stories from the three Osho communes, many of them unseen by newer readers discovering Osho today.

Voices and Experiences – first-hand accounts from people who lived in the communes or have been touched by the meditations.

Mystics of the Month – a look at a figure Osho spoke about often, and why their understanding still resonates.

A further section uses that month’s birthdays – thinkers, poets, philosophers Osho referred to – to revisit familiar names from a different angle.

There is also a Bodh Katha (a story with a lesson for present-day life), Futurology (a monthly look at the season ahead and what it might mean inwardly), and a Glimpse of Osho Dham itself – the meditation centre in New Delhi where camps and groups run throughout the year, along with news of how the community’s work is being received more widely.

Each issue closes with In His Presence – a question once put to Osho, and his answer, chosen to echo that month’s theme.

Five issues have been published so far. Subscribe to the Osho Dham Monthly Newsletter to receive the next one: oshoworld.com. In the meantime discover the September issue: oshoworld.com.
